NFL Season 2016-17 (2 Viewers)

I will defer to Louis as he's the appellate attorney but I don't think it's unusual for an appeal to take this long. I'm not sure if it matters if a case is high priority as to whether it gets heard before other cases but if it does, this case, most assuredly, is not.

Its not at all unusual for an appeal to take this long. In the Second Circuit first there is usually a CAMP conference where the parties see if a settlement is possible, and a briefing schedule is set, usually providing for several months to perfect the appeal, then more time to file the respondents and reply brief. Even after the appeal is fully briefed, sometimes it takes well over a year to get a decision.

Sounds like P. Manning calls it a day and retires on Monday, got to give him his credits as one of the best (I won't say ever) as Manning had a lot of hard losses in many a playoff game along the way in his career but no doubt a first ballet Hall of Famer though, so tip of the hat to Manning but time to saddle up and ride off into that sunset...Sammy

News reports in the Bay Area are reporting that the Niners might be interested in RG III as a back-up. I can live with that, but that still does not solve their starting QB quandary.

So far the Giants have re-signed JPP, while watching two of the other top pass rushers sign elsewhere (Miami and the Raiders). Jerry Reese doesn't seem to have any sense of urgency about keeping his job. This does not bode well.

Miami has signed Mario Williams; imagine him and Suh rushing the passer? Denver loses one of their key defensive lineman to the Jaguars as well.

Looks like it's down to Houston and Denver for Ostelburgermyster; if Denver doesn't sign him, who plays QB for them?

Enjoy that championship....................

Hours after I was grousing about Reese's inactivity, he signed top cornerback Janoris Jenkins from the Rams, who paired with Domingue Rogers-Cromartie, gives the Giants a formidable cornerback combination, replacing the injury prone and inconsistent Prince Amakamura. One hole filled. Now all he needs to do is get two more defensive linemen (at least one of whom is a top pass rusher), two linebackers and a safety and the Giants will have a defense.

Louis...

Jenkins is a solid pick up...

exciting news for Giant's fans...

he will definitely solidify your secondary...

Ostelmyermusterberger signs with the Texans, so now the Donkos have no QB.

Enjoy that Super Bowl win........................

The Broncos are getting rocked in free agency. No Osweiler, Malik Jackson left and now Danny Trevathan is gone. They have no QB and they have lost 2 of their top 4 defenders.

Wow.

And wasn't Ostelmyermusterberger the racist pitcher who beamed Jackie Robinson in the movie '42'?

No big deal to me but love that Mr. Horse teeth Elway lost his starting QB!! ha!!!! I like Denver but can't stand Elway, and some reports came out saying Brock Osweiler was pissed about the whole benching thing and Elway had a good idea that if a decent offer came in that Brock was walking, as George said enjoy that Superbowl with the additional players that have signed on with other teams that repeat might not be as easy as some of the experts think...Sammy[h=1][/h]

The mistake Denver made was they panicked in the San Diego game, brought Manning in and he did a spectacular job handing the ball off to running backs and they won the game.

To top that mistake off, they named Manning the starter for the playoffs. In reality, they should have lost that Steelers game had that moron running back not fumbled as Pittsburg was going in for the score that would have iced the game.

Manning was a good game manager in the three playoff games, did virtually nothing in three games, the defense carried them to the Super Bowl; if Ostelmullerburgermyster had remained the QB, no doubt they would have still won the Super Bowl.

And yes, he seemed put off that they benched him, so he went elsewhere; I've got a feeling horseteeth will pull a rabbit out of the hat and throw **** against the wall with RGIII, Kapernick or Spinach chin Fitzpatrick and they'll catch lightning in a bottle again and get back to the playoffs.

It's the Donkos way.......................

I'm not so sure they will make the playoffs, they lost some good players and the Superbowl hangover will be well covered all year...Sammy

Sammy, would your dislike of Elway have anything to do with him refusing to play for the Baltimore Colts? It's the reason I can't stand him. I have a long memory.:wink2: -- Al

That would be the root of the evil but as a GM is where I really can't stand him, soooooo arrogant and the way he ran Tebow out of Denver never set well with me either, so if the Dincos go into a tail spin for a few years or so I'll get a little giddy knowing choppers is pulling his horse hair out trying to get back to the promised land :)...Sammy

Refresh my memory but weren't the Colts in last place then. If so, you can understand why he might not have wanted to be there.

Colts went 0-8-1 in 1982, earning the first pick in the '83 draft, and chose Elway. Elway threw a tantrum and refused to play for the Colts, who then traded him to the Broncos. Colts should have let him play baseball, as he threatened to do if he wasn't traded. Just another spoiled athlete. -- Al
