NFL Season 2016-17 (1 Viewer)

If you include RG III Cleveland has had 25 different starting QB's since 1999.

By comparison, the Patriots have had 3.........and 1 of those filled in for a year when Brady got his knee blown out.

Unbelievable.

That shows why QB is the most important position and explains the Patriots success: stability.

Just read that Ed Pitta will give it a go for the upcoming season, love the guy but taking a chance after 2 hip surgeries that is serious business.

Draft night in about 2 weeks!!!
leaning on the Ravens pick Myles Jack, or Bosa with the 6th pick, M. Jack looks to be the real deal and has speed to burn and can cover most passing routes be it out of the back field or wide receiver crossing routes, should be a fun night.

I did hear today the Pats released D. Easley who was ranked the 12th best lineman last year?? what up there George??...Sammy

Sammy...

with the 4th pick...

if Jalen Ramsey is gone...I hope Dallas takes Bosa...

that kid is something else...6'6 and 275...he's fast...looks lean (230ish) and is all muscle...

they need help in both the secondary and pass rush...

Bosa looks good...

Haley was their best pass rusher and they didn't resign him yet...

he's currently a free agent...

Mike, This is going to be a interesting draft, usually you have the no. 1,2,3 guys pretty much sewed up to what place they may be headed but not this year, looks to be the top 5-6 guys could go anywhere!!?? good luck to you and your Cowboys Mike!! both our teams need some luck after last year...Sammy

I meant Hardy...not Haley...

Yup, he's gone.

You can't cut a guy who's injured, he's 100% healthy at this point after season ending surgery.

That makes three of their four starting defensive linemen from last year are gone......................Easley, Jones and Hicks...........replaced by Knighton, Long and the ex Redskins player who's name escapes me, plus they still have Branch and Brown.

I think they are switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4 front and Easley is a defensive tackle, not an end. Long and Branch are ends, Knighton and Brown are nose tackles, so that may be the reason why Easley is gone.............

NFL schedules just released and I must say I'm happy for a change for the Ravens, home opener against the Bills, a Christmas game at Pitt. a bye at week 8 just before the Steelers come to Bmore, no West Coast games!! but some tough games in New England on Mon. nite Dec. 12th, and finishing the year in Cinncy (again) but a Hell of a lot better then last years 5 out of 7 on road ^&confuse and 3 West Coast trips, next stop the Draft Night!!

In 2016 my Ravens play:

Tom's Steelers
Brad's Jets
Mike's Cowboys
Louis's Giants
George's Pats
Al's Redskins

Should be a fun thread this year :)...Sammy

Sammy:

The 49er's have:

Mike's Cowboys
George's Patriots
Wayne's Saints

and to make it more interesting they are all home games for the Niners. I might try and go to the Patriots game except it is on November 20, I am usually already in Texas for Thanksgiving by then.

OR, you and I could score a couple of tickets, I'll fly out to SF and we'll catch the game and blow off Thanksgiving...................:wink2:

I saw the schedule for next season is out. The Rams first home game in LA will be against Seattle. King Pete returns to the LA Coliseum for the home opener. That should be quite an event for many reasons.

Please tell me the Rams are going back to those old school blue and white helmets/blue and white uniforms..............if they move back to LA and still wear those USFL/Arena football Rams uniforms, that is going to be a downer...................

Philly just traded up to #2 with Cleveland...

Cleveland now has the 8th pick...

and I thought Cleveland wanted a high pick for a QB...

I guess RGIII is their immediate future...

I read Philly fans are mad...they gave up a ton to go to #2...

The deal doesnt make a lot of sense because the GM indicated they were going to use the pick for a QB, even though he indicated Bradford is the QB and they have a backup, who gets a ridiculous amount of money. The person they draft wouldn't be used for several years. Moreover, it's not like they know who they can draft because the Rams have the first pick. Presumably, they're happy with Wentz or Goff. However, the Browns were high on Wentz. Did they fnd out something they didn't like?

I just read an article that said Philly may be using this slot for leverage in perhaps another trade for a team that wants a QB...

and then another article that said Cleveland doesn't want to draft a QB and feel if they did...
they would shatter his confidence his first year by surrounding him with a no talent team...

who knows...

heck...

it's all speculation and who's on the inside that knows the truth...

sort of like Wall Street...

the common man is the last to know...

the media is just doing what it does...

trying to make stories to sell...trying to make them interesting...sensationalism at it's finest...

and we stupid football junkies hang on every word...^&grin

I think you make that trade if you know what is happening at number 1. In this draft you don't. The Rams could take Goff or Wentz. Maybe Philly likes them both equally so it is irrelevant? Then again, maybe Philly is not going QB at number 2?

In the press conference, the GM said they were going for a QB.
