Went to Blues home opener last night but was reminded that sometimes I wonder why I buy season tickets. Game started 50 minutes late due to the Cardinals playoff game. As the Blues game started the 3 seats to my left were empty, however a minute into the game walking up the steps is a complete drunken 20 year old stumbling, spilling his beer and sure enough he sits next to me. I look at my wife and she says don,t say anything. Well about 3 minutes later after being bumped several times by this guy because of his condition I told him don,t bump me again. At which time he responds f--- you. That,s it, I get out of my seat and find the nearest gendarme, advise him of the situation. He responds and escorts this guy out of the building. No way was I gonna put up with that for the whole game.
A couple of years ago at a playoff game I had a woman seated next to me that was so fat she bled over into my seat. I had to sit at an angle, so much so that my back hurt by the time the game was over.
There is something to be said about the atmosphere at being at a game, but it,s not always good!

Bumping the hockey thread. Outdoor games coming up in LA and NY! There are two at Yankee Stadium. Tickets are on sale. Should be lots of fun. Even if you are not a hockey fan, the outdoor games are an event.

Two at the Stadium, that is awesome, went to the Bruins/Flyers game, it is truly an event worth going to, the colder the better...........

Gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to a 2023 1st round pick, my son Alec:

Bruins/Penguins, what a game tonight, Bruins up 2-0, Penguins tie it 2-2, Bruins go up 3-2, Penguins tie it with .01 seconds left.

Unbelievable.

Just unbelievable.

And naturally Crosby scores the tying goal.

And 34 seconds later, Krug whistles one past Fleury in OT, Bruins win it 4-3.

Thank Christ.

How are his forechecking skills? My Sharks need help in that department.

He's a fantastic skater, has been taking power skating lessons from a French Canadian since he was 4, but he has a lot to learn about stick handling and forechecking. I played defense in high school, so I am going to work with him with the stick handling skills. On the good news side, a puck shot by his instructor caught him in the gap between pads (leaving a nasty bruise) and he didn't even slow up during the scrimmage, so he has the necessary mental toughness to play.

Take him to one of the outdoor games at Yankee Stadium. There is nothing like outdoor hockey.

I just watched the replay of this game. Instant classic. I am a Penguins fan going back to the days when Eddie DeBartolo Sr. owned them, and now by region I am a Sharks fan. However, I just love to see a great hockey game no matter who is playing or who wins. This Bruins/Pens game sums up why I love hockey so much!

I am seriously considering it. He has been to 5 NHL games over the past two seasons, so I bet he would love it.:wink2:

That is one thing that west coast hockey lacks compared to the east and north etc., we simply do not have outdoor hockey weather.

The Kings and Ducks are playing an outdoor game at Dodger stadium in January. Hopefully the players don't fall through the ice.

The Kings are finally rolling despite losing their starting goal tender for the next few weeks. They beat the Ducks last night in a shootout with a kid playing his first game in goal. Nice to see. The diehards on the east coast won't like it, but the best hockey is being played out west this year. At least so far.

In the entire Western Conference there are only 2 teams under 500!

Ugly game between the Pens and Bruins this weekend. One guy carried off in a stretcher. Suspensions coming.

Pengiuns player ran Erikson, now he's got yet another concussion, so Thorton waited for his chance and then pounded the guy into the ice, would have pounded him through the ice if they didn't pull him off of the guy.

No place in the game for trying to end guys careers, the Penguins already ended Savards career with a cheap shot elbow to the head, not going to let them do it again if Thorton has a say.

Good for him.

I didn,t think Thorntans act was as bad as the Pittsburgh player who kneed Marchand. Now that was CHEAP!

Congrats to Martin Jones (LA) and Philip Grubauer (Wash) getting their first NHL wins in goal this week. I see these guys play in the AHL for Manchester and Hershey. It's refreshing to see guys from small markets getting their chance on the big stage.
