Nhl 2013 (2 Viewers)

All:

Congrats to The Kings and Combat as well any other LA fans.

This was a great thread. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for letting me be a part of it, I am already looking forward to the 2014 version.

Best,
Jason

I don't agree that it was like boys against men; the Rangers led four of the five games going into the third period. They just couldn't put them away so give the Kings credit for doing that. A questionable non-call may have cost the Rangers a game but bad refereeing is unfortunately part of sports.

Congrats to the Texas Stars winner of the AHL Caulder Cup. That puts an end to hockey for this year. The sport seems to be in great shape. The NHL had an outstanding playoffs. The Chicago-LA series was one of the most highly watched and competitive that I have seen.

If your wife ever starts complaining about toy soldiers, you can note that I've started collecting hockey pucks. I just picked up the game winning goal puck from the Kings-Flyers game on March 24. I actually watched this auction obsessively on Meigrey for about three weeks. And then was surprised when no one else bid on it. LOL.

Combat, you better watch out, jerseys will be next!!! You think soldiers are expensive.

Some interesting new OT rules in the AHL. Most of the fans seem to hate it and prefer to let the games end in a tie. I'm not sure what happens if they call a penalty in 3-on-3 play. Could be down to two players on the ice. I also preferred the old five-player shootout to the NHL's three.

Seven-minute overtime, 3-on-3 after the first whistle past four minutes of OT, three-player shootout, and new game misconducts assessed for multiple majors in a single game highlight the rule changes approved by the AHL for 2014-2015.
