NHL playoffs!!!! (3 Viewers)

^&grin^&grin^&grin^&grin^&grin^&grin^&grin Bruins

Outstanding.........................first time in the finals since 1990, when they got steamrolled by the Oilers.........hopefully, a different result this time....:wink2:

The B's played a flawless playoff game. I'm glad the Refs let them play the type of game everyone wants to see. If the B's play this hard hitting stay out of the penelty box Hockey, they can beat anyone. Tampa played a great series, it is a shame someone had to lose, but the better team won. If the B's can slow down the Twins, they can win this series. Tim Thomas must make the easy saves, and stand on his head on the tougher ones. I hope they take the win each shift, period, and game mentality, if they do, Boston will be Title Town.:)

Congrats to the Bruins fans! You got to give Rouloson credit, he kept Tampa in the game.

This thread really went quiet........

Anyway, tonight's the night, game 7 for all the marbles, should be an epic battle, the Bruins need to score first and put all the pressure on the Canucks.

So far, home ice has been huge in this series, was lucky to attend all three Bruins games and the Garden was rocking, there really is nothing like playoff hockey, you can have baseball, football and basketball, playoff hockey is just on another level.

Here's hoping the Bruins can pull this one off, 39 years between cups is an eternity, I hope the refs put their whistles in their pockets and let them boys play...............

I will remain quiet until the game is over. I don't wanna jinx anything^&grin

Yeah baby, this is just epic.

Amazing is more like it.

My Dad is a huge Bruins fan, he instilled his love for the game in me, 39 years between championships is a long time, but it was worth it to win it this way.

As many of you know, I almost lost my Dad last year, he had a health issue but is doing much better, he was the first person I called as the clock ticked down to double 00; we had a moment only a father and son can appreciate, talk about an early fathers day present.

I use this section of the forum to have fun with sports, it's the toybox of life afterall, none of this stuff is life or death, at the end of the day, it's just good natured fun.

Seven Championships in ten years; all four major teams winning a championship in the past six years.

Just unreal.............................

Thanks Tom, will pass along your regards to my Dad...........the Bruins did what the Penguins did, lose games 1, 2 and 5 on the road, won games 3, 4 and 6 at home, then 7 on the road.

I'm still in shock; they couldn't put the puck in the ocean in the first three games in Vancouver, tonight they lit the lamp four times.

As Barry Melrose said, will over skill...................

Boston with a 23 goal to 8 goal tally in the finals is domination. I know there was alot of talk on how good Vancouver was at home but this series could have easily been over in 4. Vancouver barely got by Boston at home. Boston was easily the better team and they deserved this win. I would love to be bar hoping in Boston right now ^&grin

Ugh!!!! Do we need to bring that Pitts/Redwing final up. That one still ignites the fires around here^&grin

Now I can breath again, what a Playoff performance by Tim Thomas. He was a combination of Grant Fuhr, Billy Smith and Martin Brodeuir all rolled into one. This does give the Boston Fandom that long awaited Titletown name. Tim Thomas was born to bring the Cup to Boston. It was 39 long years, and Tim is 39. I'm glad my prediction was wrong, how to go Bruins, you made this fan extremely Happy.:):):)

Congratulations to the city of Boston and to the Bruins fans. A great win in a great championship series. A fine time to be a Boston sports fan. Enjoy and bask in the glow, Boston is on one fantastic run. -- Al

George, congratulations to you and your dad and all the Bruins fans.
As Boston is in the other division I don,t get to see them but once or twice a year, but watching what they did in the finals has made me a huge fan of theirs.
As a sports announcer dubbed them, Thelma & louise, what happened to the Sudins?

I did it for you...............myself and several friends...........just got back from watching the team arrive at the Garden, Chara hoisting the cup getting off the bus, the crowd went nuts..............Rask walking off the bus wearing Thorton's helmet was beyond comical.

I'm working off of about three hours of sleep, but I don't care, this is unreal, Boston really is a hockey town first and foremost, Orr and the rest of the Bruins ran this town from 1969-1979..............

The key to the whole series was when Horton got laid out, the team rallied around that and smoked Vancouver after that....

The parade is Saturday at 11:00am...........

Thanks Gary, as a true hockey fan like you are you have to appreciate what the Bruins did this year, not one national talking head picked them to win this series, they proved them all wrong.

As Joe pointed out, they could have won this thing in four games as the first two games in Vancouver were right there for the taking.

Chara and the Boston defense completely shut down the Sudins; both of them were very classy throughout the series, stood there and answered every question and never ducked a reporter after some tough losses.................

Thanks Al, it's a great time to be from Boston, no doubt about it.

Last night at my friends house his 9 year old was lost in the crowd of the 20 or so people there crammed into the living room, but afterward it was comical to think so far in his young life he's seen 6 championships, the kid is spoiled rotten....:wink2:

I'm happy for you Mike, I remember the first time I met you at the Dedham show you had your Bruins jacket on, back in the dark days when this team was really down in the dumps, I thought what a loyal guy and your loyalty was rewarded last night..........Boston really is a hockey town, Orr and the Bruins owned this town in the 70's, glad they are back on top after 39 incredibly long years of one frustration after another..........the Flyers and Parent in 74, the Canadiens in 76, 77 and 78, the infamous too many men on the ice penalty, Wesley hitting the crossbar in overtime of game one in the 90 finals vs the Oilers, the monumental meltdown last year in the Eastern Conference semi finals blowing a 3-0 lead to the Flyers, all washed away last night.....................

Looking at the Yahoo main page I see that the Vancouver faithful hit the streets and rioted. It really is hard to see something like this when people get hurt, millions in damages etc.... I know frustration sets in but in the end its just a game. Be proud of what Vancouver did by being the best in the west and get prepared for the next season.

Oh yeah I gotta love the morons that pose for photos when they are turning over police cars, smashing out windows, engaging with riot police. Those fools will be the 1st to be identified and prosecuted.

Yeah Timmy! ^&grin Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. :smile2:
