Well folks the show is a wrap. I traveled down to PA early Saturday in the snow to do an appraisal and then headed back late Saturday afternoon to to NJ. I ran out of steam Sat night but got enough set up and finished in the AM. the show opened at 9AM. At first I was like 10 people? Then from 9:15AM -10:45AM it was the busiest show I have had in years. It was crazy for that time! I think overall the crowd was about 150 (adults) or so people but about 100 of them were all there at once. There was a lot of buying at the show and after the crowd dispersed I was able to tidy up my booth. Then it was slower and I had time to chat with some of my regulars. I think the threats of snow kept the crowd down compared to the last 2 years.

I was able to talk to many customers and a couple helped me out during the busy hour by taking in money and bagging up stuff. As usual Tom, Thor, Eddie, the Jones brothers and I had some good laughs. Also in attendance was Gary Green, Al Greene, Arley Pett, Dan Miller and a couple other guys(don't know the names).

It started to snow just as I left. Luckily mostly sleet and rain on the way home and I missed the storm. I got home around 9PM. I woke up Monday to 10-12 inches of snow.

I think the next NJ show is August 18th??

Matt,
Thanks for the show report. It's just great to hear some good news coming out of a show. It reminds me of those old show reviews and read and feel like I missed something really fun and special. I hope we get more upbeat show reports like this! I'm glad you had a good time all the way around. Thanks for the photos too.

Will second Matt's report but dag, I still have 20 lbs to lose (lost 20 since January 1), man had I gotten fat! Oh well, by August I should really look trim in time for the next show.

Seriously, show was fun, it was a rabid frenzy for a time. I can honestly say I sold my most expensive Russian Aeroart piece on the table and we also sold a $5 vintage Britains cannon, so all over the map as far as what was hot. That makes it fun for me.

The Jones Bros had some very nice and exquisite Artisan pieces by some of the more well known New England painters from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s. Their quality is up there, price is too, but they are wonderful pieces to see in person, I always enjoy them! Fast Eddie's attic even had a few on his tables too, you just never know what exquisite "junque" will show up!

Have to make sure you take pics in August, I should look like a toothpick then!!!

Tom, you'll confuse everyone and perhaps get asked for ID if you roll up looking as skinny as a rake! ^&grin

Tom

If you get too skinny Tom, we will have to buy you new shirts! Maybe some bright sorbet colors like Zach rocks....;)

Everyone is jealous of my sorbet green and creamsicle orange shirts!!! 😀!
