You are without a doubt one of the best, if not the best, TS photographer on the forum . . . . . once again Frank, just well done . . . .
:smile2: Mike

Frank: as a huge fan of the Afrikakorps and N. Africa campaign, I am incredibly impressed with your photographs. As others have said, you're one of the best miniature photographers on the web. While your First Legion DAK collection is amazing (in detail and quality), your photographs really bring them to life in what appear to be real-life images. Well done and thanks for sharing some images of your photo table. I can learn some tricks from the master. Well done!

My work which doesn't even compare to yours.

I look forward to seeing your future images.

Thanks for all the kind words guys.

WesternOutlaw, you are on the right track with your pictures. You have an eye for composition and it's simply a matter of practice and experimentation. Keep at it.

I think that Frank is right and although hard to believe - even his photography has gotten better over the years. It has now reached a degree of professionalism that is actually quite intimidating.

Welcome to the forum Larry and i totally agree with your post and Maple Leaf's post. I have two First Legion AK AFV's (DAK001 SdKfz232 & DAK003 Panzer III) and i won't display the SdKfz232 figure with the vehicle due to his facial features. The Panzer III figure is ok but on the whole i think most of the WW2 facial features on the figures do look ordinary to say the least. If FL could fix this issue and bring their price down a little then i am sure they will sell a heck of lot more figures, but then that is my opinion..

I might also add that the new Vietnam figures do look great and this includes there facial features!

Tom,
I did have to take a small bite of my own words when I ran across this picture:

It does look like the spittin' image of the FL facial sculpt. I just wish there was a little more perceived variation. Though when displayed the faces are a lot less noticeable than in close up pictures.

He is a handsome looking chap isn't he!!!:rolleyes2: I guess you can't have all your troops good looking although i still think the facial features could be better. Perhaps as you say there should be some more perceived variation...

Just received the new desert Sd.Kfz.222 and had to get it into a scene.

Even though my central air unit has been out since Sunday and it was the hottest week of the year here in AZ.:mad: I will say that is another great set up Frank, love the new 222 whether gray or AK both look sweet, thanks for posting...Sammy

Excellent layout and background . It gives the sense of a patrol scouting for a way around the 8th Army south of El Alamein. It really looks like they are in the Qattra Depression.

Terrific scene Frank. That new 222 does look quite nice. Thanks for posting.

Thanks guys :)

I find desert scenes are the most difficult to light (white balance, intensity, direction) followed closely by snow scenes.

Prior to cleaning up my photography table I wanted to take a shot of the prime mover towing the 15cm field howitzer. The lighting in this series is better than the first series IMO.
