I don't get it, how is it copying if you just make your figures to look normal?

Anyway, those German Zombies certainly remind me of those Nazi's that got killed near the end of "Raiders of the Lost Arc" when they got zapped when the Arc was opened :)

Lol that is so true. Well spotted OZ. We need a Gestapo guy in trilby and trenchcoat to really make it complete.

Zombie Nazis - that is a great premise.

If you look at the collectors showcae website, Brian is claimning that the figures are 1/32 scale.

There is a lot of confusion and mis-information about their products coming directly from them.

If they don't get their story straight they will shott themselves in the foot.

I liked the collectors showcase Afrika Corps 88 gun crew - I thought the sculpting looked good, but 1/24 or 1/25 scale is too big for me.

I met Blake from NMA (without knowing it at the time) and he kindly helped me find a gentleman with a 1988 issue K&C Zulu set for sale I was searching for based on a description by telling me where he had seen the gentleman. He seemed very nice. Sadly, I was told he was having real production problems and actually had approached King & Country to take over production of his vehicles.

Also, I was disappointed by the NMA Sturmtiger. It lacked the crain for loading the shells the vehicle had. Shannon told me this was due to production problems. However, if someone told me they were selling a tank without a canon because of difficulties in production, I wouldn't buy it.

As a new collector of k&C i recently wondered whether i should branch out and start collecting other makes of models from a different company... The one i was going to go for was new model army... However on reading the above quote i was wondering was it wise to order with a company that appears to have " so called difficulties " with their production..
I don't know how bad these difficulties are but at the minute i am not willing to part with my hard earned cash to find out... I was just wondering whether Louis or any other forum members could enlighten myself and other potential customers as to how bad these difficulties are or whether they had heard anything different to what louis has?????

Heres hoping

Maximo:)

I have to politely refer you to Blake or Shannon. I am providing information second hand, it is only fair to get it directly from the interested parties.

Anyone know if the treefrog contest idea got axed?

We did put a mix of Honour Bound, New Model Army and King & Country together to show scale and compatibility but Andy said he did not have time to take part in the contest so no official contest took place. His opinion was that the three companies were already competing and that people are already voting with their money.

Dear Maximo,
As your location is not indicated, I am not sure what dealers are in your area. If you are interested in a product and are worried about the manufacturer, I would suggest purchasing the set through a dealer -- one NMA dealer is the host of this forum.:)

Maximo,

It's hard to give advise on this kind of thing. However, whether or not NMA is having troubles would not, with all due respect, seem to be the question. I think what should guide you is whether you like the product. If you do, you should purchase it and if at some point NMA ceases operations you might have a rare collectible.

Hi Maximo -

As one of NMA's dealers, I have to say that their sets complement K&C very well. In my opinion, that is what matters. While people seem to hear rumors about many things, in my opinion the proof is in the pudding. The schwimwagen sets are very nice and fill a void in what has been produced (excluding K&C's long retired version). The Sturmtiger is quite unique.

My motto is always 'Collect what you like.' If that means K&C, get K&C. If that means NMA, get NMA. If that means Figarit, get Figarti. If it means Honour Bound, get that. I can't say anything about production issues for NMA, but I can say that they have some very nice and unique sets.

Pete,
Well put, couldn't have said it any better myself..........

You have had some real good answers to your questions from some of the top Collectors around.
So here's my 2 cents go slow.
1 What era do you like WWI, WWII, Pre America, and so on.
2 What do you like.
3 Scale No company's scale is the same and they all very.
4 Brand for me this can be one of many if it fit what I like or want
5 There are no rules it what you like and how much money you want spend.

Got to say i bought NMA's mortar set and it goes very well with my K&C Normandy germans.Have also just ordered their Sturmtiger as i saw it in London and its cool.I just checked out collectors showcase site and i think their U.S paras look a fraction less ugly than the SS figures.

Hi Guys,

I have to agree with Chuck here you should collect what you like for the pure and simple reason that you enjoy them. For instance I focus mainly on the Durbar displays out there because I think they are great! I also have Zulu Wars, The Sudan, The Crimean, WWI and Napoleonics and some really interesting sets from New Zealand and Australia. Recently I found some stunning Russian figures of Winged Polish Hussars that I had to have so I do have some whimsie when it comes to the collection too. So if you see something you like get it. As for the rumors of issues with NMA and their line I'd say they were a bit exaggerated.

Dave,

If everything I passed along about NMA isn't true, all I can say is the sources were the head of a toy soldier manufacturer and an NMA dealer. I don't pass along information not based on impecable sources. As I recommended, someone should talk to Blake or an NMA dealer and have them confirm or deny my report. If it turns out I was misinformed, I appologize for passing along the information.

Warmest regards,

Louis

...Do you have information to the contrary?
I think we should allow the party discussed to comment. Blake of New Model Army is a member of this forum. Louis has posted information based on a conversation with the "head of a toy soldier manufacturer." However, that person was not Blake, and it is only fair to hear NMA's side of this discussion. As for the NMA dealer, the comment involved a missing detail piece on the Strumtiger and should be interpreted as a "production problem" with that single detail piece.:)

Hi Guys,

Since I trust what Louis or Brad have to say I got worried and asked a question and I received an email that made it clear there were some issues that were resolved. I hope this answers the question.

Dave
