Painting gloss figures (1 Viewer)

Thanks KV!

Chipping away at the infantry now. 3 coats of red, 2 of white and just one (so far ) of ivory later, I'm at this point:

Another coat of ivory still required, then on to the faces, hair, facings etc.

Also started getting some red stuff on the Britains castings.

Simon

PS, anyone know what the pouch / canteen looking thing in the middle of the backs is, and what colour it should be? If nobody knows, I'll just take AWAG.

Also, due to painful enamel drying times, started on the Gatling Packing Camel. :)
I primed it all, as the previous splodge of painting, was naff:

A couple of coats of camel colour painted on (mix of tan and yellowy type colour) and 3 coats of ivory on to the handler (just another 997 left )

Simon,

You have been busy, the camel look much better for a good undercoating.

I need to get going again, but that word 'Work' has got in the way.

Looking forward to the next installment.

Steadfast 24th Infantry sitrep. Been doing little and often (ish). There current status is:

Got to get the gunmetal, slings, lids, bases and a couple of gold bits done and we'll be laughing.

You can tell from the primed bits, that I like to grab them hat and base when painting, hence leaving these bits until last.

Also made a start on the Britains castings.

Plenty more to do on these.

And my camel is nearing completion. Handler needs a bit of work still, but after 4 coats of Ivory so far, I'm ready to move on to a different part.

Simon,

These are nice and crisp! What colour are you painting the bases?

Jeff

Since I ran out of green paint, I had to finish the infantry off in the more conventional colours. All done now with this set, including the obligatory 200 coats of ivory white on the helmets.

And with the previously painted crew:

Now where are those pesky Zulus? :D

Simon,

Oh Yes!..they look very nice indeed, especially grouped around the gatling :) Now you need to paint a few Zulus for target practice :p:D

The Steadfast figures are quite crisp castings and a lot cheaper than the Tradition ones.......might have to try some myself one day.

Jeff

Wow. I wish those guys were over here or vice versa. I would love to get my hands on them. Simon I hope you are proud of them because those are some very nice sets that you have created!
