Can someone tell me how the PAK is dearer than panther :eek is it because there is 3 men with pak
Scott

I think it's mainly due to the figures, yes. For this release and others, and also other manufacturers.

I guess (only guess mind ), that polystone is cheaper than metal, and that painting figures is far more time consuming than vehicles (it is for me anyway).

It probably is what Wraith has said, the gun will be all metal if previous relases are gone by and, three figures as compared to only a half figure tank commander.

Its still not badly priced for what it is IMO

The 2 sets are great looking the panther is a cracker would love in a white wash:D

A also believe there is more work involved to cast and assemble an arty piece compared to a tank which is why the artillery pieces tend to have a shorter production run, e.g. previous Normandy 88 mm.

WOW
Just looked on K+CUK site at panther i thought it was cheaper than PAK :confused:WHAT A JUMP IN PRICE:eek:

Would be nice to at least get a full bodied figure with a price tag of $209 on that panther. I often hear new blood is constantly being drawn to this hobby. I wonder how many leave because they can't keep up with the prices.

Prices all around in this hobby are getting quite high....Obviously most of us will have to budget our purchases carefully.....and be very selective........I will pass on the New Panther but have ordered the Anti-tank pak gun with crew....Looks good to me

Good question, I would suggest most stay in the hobby but buy much less sets per year than they used to.

I'm not a new collector, but have only recently switched to collecting K&C over the last 2/3 years.

Like many collectors I have a fairly tight budget to play with, which for family commitments seems to be shrinking all the time......;)

In that sense deciding to collect K&C might not seem the smartest thing to do under the circumstances. For me though its all about quality not quantity. My overall collection has shrunk considerable, however I enjoy the few K&C AV/figures I now own, that much more.:)

Despite what anyone says, K&C's is expensive, but you're paying for a fantastic product!!:D

I may not be able to afford most of K&C's big ticket items, but that hasn't prevented me (with a little creativity) from enjoying what few items I now have in my collection. Its all about choice.

I'm a HUGE fan of the single/pairs of figures on offer and hope Andy and the team will continue to release these at a fair price?!

I know of several young/new collectors who have got started out in this great hobbie of ours:D, primarily due to the affordibility of these types of small sets.

Despite the high prices I still think there is plenty of scope for collectors with big and small budgets to enjoy K&C......long may it last.;):p

Cheers Toddy

Toddy mate.
Beautifully said my Kiwi brother. Could not have put it better myself. Well done. We will have to get you over to our gathering of collectors in Brisbane next June. We will give you some good old Aussie hospitality and I am sure you will enjoy.
Cheers from the Big Anzac Island across the Ditch, Howard

Sounds Great Howard, would be nice to meet some fellow collectors on your side of the ditch.:p Thanks heaps for the kind words too!!

We don't have anything like a collectors gathering/meet over here which is a real shame. :( From all accounts it sounds like you Aussi's have a ton of fun during these get togethers.

Just have to convince the wee wifey now about a June visit.....wish me luck.

Will keep ya up-dated.

Ta for now....Toddy

Toddy, are you getting any of the new K & C aircraft?

I always find price debates etc interesting as over the years I have heard lots of these comments and, it always amazes me that collectors find the way to keep collecting even past the so called cut off point. I suspect in a few years we may be discussing the same thing with a new cut off point. Its the evolution of hobby and collectors.involved

Good point :(

Here in the Benelux the prices for K&C figures and vehicles in €'s equals more and more the prices published in $'s (although the exchange rate is 1€ =1.30$)
So also overhere the prices are becomming the main problem ( of course I do not forget that quality and price go hand in hand)
I have a budget of +/- 200$ per month. I have to select every month only a few items amongst the new WWII releases. I would like, like everybody to buy more, but unfortunately I cannot. ( now being retired from active life has restricted the budget available for my hobby)

WOW, I would have given up on if I had to pay that much above every other collector

G'Day Mate, really love the aircraft, but my budget doesn't!!:( Sadly I've avoided the temptation thus far, although the new Spit is looking awfully good. Ta Toddy
