Guys...
The eastern front is looking popular again and, a few weeks ago I was asked to repaint the rommel desert Horch and change it into the one that Kurt Meyer used in and around the battles to capture and, recapture the city of Kharkov. The picture that I was sent shows what was wanting done. The problem was what figure could one use to replicate as near as possible Kurt standing in the passenger seat posing for the kreigsbericter.
The horch was repainted grey as this was not whitewashed at any time. Markings were added to replicate this vehicle and, the reg plate was reproduced on my computer. Figures were attacked with milliput and weathered. Meyer was found from one of the K&C ranges in a similar pose and was again, attacked with the dremmel and, the milliput,to put heavy wool mittens and a nice wooly hat. Anyone guess what figure he used to be?? air recon flag was made from cotton Paper and put through the computer and, lightly weathered.
Hope you like. I also add the original picture from the battle of Kharkov book
