This reminds me of a recent 'discussion' I had with a female lecturer only a week ago. I was a part of a group of students (I'm still learning) and she was teaching us some sales skills relevant to a particular industry.
Anyway, she had recently got into Eastern religion and is a devout vegetarian and spiritualist and is travelling to India soon. She said that the world would be much better off if there were more spiritual people. Sadly for her I'm not a compliant student and a devote pragmatist rather than a spiritualist. I pointed out to her that Hitler was heavy into spiritualism, a strict vegetarian, and even used the ancient Swastika as his symbol of world order.
Some people say that religion is the major cause of war, which is of course untrue if the religion is preached correctly. However, unfortunately, propaganda and religion is sometimes used to make a group of people think they are better than everyone else. We are all from different tribes so to speak, and should use our differences to enhance our lives not separate us
