Point of the horse (1 Viewer)

Wellington..Dubbo,,,Orange.....grandparents had a farm at Wangarbon ( think that is how it is spelt would be near Wellington I think ),,,,,about the 1930's or after, had relies also in Cowra. my sister (10 yrs older ..now sadly departed ) had a picture of uncle Laurie in Light Horse uniform...dont known history... Drought stuffed the grandparents...they move to the big smoke ...too long ago to remember that much...remember the farm and the horses though....cheers TomB

I know that area very well, owned a property the Dubbo side of Wongarbon and a house in Dubbo. January this year I took my Two boys and their gfs on a trip to check out where I used to live way back when, and also went thru the Dubbo Western Plains Zoo. A good Thirteen hour road trip from where I live now (Sunshine Coast, Queensland). During the trip we saw a number of Kangaroos feeding on the road edge, the girls had never seen Kangaroos in the wild before (which may surprise our overseas members but about 90% of Aussies live in cities now).

My Grandfather was in the 12th Australian Lighthorse, he was from Taree but whilst at Galipolli he met a guy that survived the Breelong (Gilgandra) massacre. Aussie forum members may know this event better by the Australian film 'The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith' that was based (very loosly) on the massacre, this was a major event back then, there was a state wide manhunt for these murderers.

I've heard of The Pony Express - but hadn't heard that Tesco's did a fresh take-away service before..............

In a bizarre twist, it's now emerged that a McDonalds in China has been caught serving quarter pandas.
