Duxford is indeed very nice to while away a day or two in! Absolutely fascinating collection - even though I'm not really into aviation per se, it's still quite enjoyable to get the chance to see machines like the Spitfire and Concorde up close and personal!

The Land Warfare collection is very nice as well - am I right in remembering that one of the converted T-34's used as a Tiger I in Saving Private Ryan is housed in there?? Anyway, a great place all round. Was last there just before Halloween, had the chance to nose around Cambridge a bit as well, a really nice neck of the woods. Looking forward to these pictures Rob :D!

Cheers,

Molloy

Just to stay in this one and for a future poll. How many of you guys have ever heard or seen a T35? I just got a WWII encyclopedia filled with stuff and there is this huge Russian Tank. Two guns forward and one towards the rear:eek:

The pics will probably either be of my feet or clear blue sky!!!;).The Land Hall at Duxford is very good as is the American air force building, well worth a trip.

Interesting link to the T35.I'm sure i saw a programme some time back that confirmed what Pierre just said in that it was a failure as a battle Tank, the Wiki link seems to confirm this too.

Just Googled the name to find an image, can't say I've ever seen it before, but it's certainly impressive looking! Slightly reminds me of a very early First World War tank fused with a later WWII model. You certainly couldn't accuse it of being under-endowed anyway;)!

Found a picture of it on Wikipedia

I am not sure when this poll was run but I do note that the Hummel and DAK Tiger both got pretty low votes, yet they were made. Others like the horse drawn artillery piece got a lot of support but have not been made.
Just wondering

Glad to see the dead and wounded figures doing so well in the poll.I think some WW2 dead and wounded would be most welcome in most of the theatres this range covers.I think they would definetly add realism to Normandy scenes especially.

I also like the idea of the Nebelwerfer perhaps in Normandy camo scheme.

Especially with the AK RANGE !

I mean we have AK Shooting figures and action poses - need some casualties to make them "POP" in a diorama !!

I liked the choice of Rangers with bangalore torpedoes, though combat engineers would be better. It would good for a diorama showing the efforts to break through the seawall on Omaha Beach.

Prost!

Great scene in the "Big Red One" of them setting up the bangalore on the beach,

(Robert Carradine)Pvt. Zab "The Bangalore Torpedo was 50' long and packed with 85 pounds of TNT and you assembled it along the way. By hand. I'd love to meet the ******* who invented it.

Good to see that Horse drawn Artillery and the wounded/dead soldiers still on the lead
