That is one of the reasons Australians hate to tip. We (if I can speak for us all) feel that it is the employer's responsibility to pay an appropriate wage to their employees.

There are down sides of course - I never holiday in Australia. With high wages and a strong dollar I go the UK or the US instead. I have been to the UK at least 10 times but I have been to Melbourne twice and have never made it to Perth or Adelaide.

Why on earth would you go to Melbourne twice?.....:wink2:{sm2}
Wayne.

Wow! $15.96 per hour.What would that convert to in US dollars?

About the same, our dollar is level pegging with the U.S. dollar and has been for quite a while. I think it has dropped back a little but by not all that much. Where i live (Darwin) many tradesman charge around $100 dollars per hour due to the resources boom going on here at the moment although the average wage in Darwin is around $20 to $30 dollars per hour.

If you want to pull up stumps and get over here then refer to Jack's post on how to get to Oz! {sm4}

Sorry for hijacking your thread Sammy!

One of my biggest beefs about travelling in the US of A is bloody tipping. As you stated the US should cut out mandatory tipping in place of a decent wage. I never mind tipping for "great service" but when every man and his dog puts out his hand for a tip when he is just doing the job he is paid for, then there is something totally wrong with the state of the nation.

Back to the main issue. TS prices have been going up like everything else, petrol, food, rent, etc. so its no big deal to me that I have to pay a little more for the TS I like. Just received RA04, IWJ11 and WS15 from NY and I have been comparing the quality against recent releases of the same tanks. K&C have improved out of sight since these three were retired some ten years ago.
Just enjoy the hobby and smell the roses.:smile2:
Cheers Howard

PS Melbourne is the TS Capital of Australia.

Oh man, POTUS wants to raise the min wage to 9.00 an hour. That should really pick up ts sales in the US. Maybe people will even have some left over cash to buy action figures from me :smile2:

That salary would barely keep me in Schlitz & pork rinds !

Hahahahahahaha, too funny. I must be doing ok, I can still drink Schlitz and sour/salsa flavored pork rinds!

What I make doesn't do it for me so I work 12-18 ot a week.It's a shame that I have to put in these extra hours but it does give me money that I actually can put into my pocket.But it could be a lot worse at least my company is booming.I do exports for my company and in the next shipment to Australia I may sneak into the container and head to Oz.^&grin
