Problem of multiple versions not being announced simultaneously (3 Viewers)

Moderator isn't a paid position. The moderators are collectors who agreed to help keep the Forum civil. They are still collectors with an opinion. They can voice any opinion they want as far as I am concerned. I do not expect them to be neutral. But, They can delete posts only for very specific reasons, such as Forum members making personal attacks, (or the moderator suddenly realising his opinion was a poor one :D) They can't delete a post because they don't agree with an opinion.

Sometimes you learn to moderate even yourself

Lol!!! "All things in moderation" :p

(a la Aristotle's Golden Mean)

After all is said and done, we are all always moderating ourselves continuously :)

Joe

Well, I guess that is for Shannon, to decide Now. But, then again. one of the P.M. to the moderator. might have been hers.;)

But one thing though, about the Moderators. It is chosen by Shannon, And Treefrog. Any unnecesary opinions by the Moderators towards anyone ( forum Members, Distributors, Manufacturers.Might be construed As a reflection on them (Treefrog)) The way that the Moderators Thinks and feels, Might be the same with Treefrogs way of thinking and Feels about things.

Figarti have hit a home run with these new releases.
Things have suddenly gelled and they have a perfect storm of great models of popular subjects with excellent figures and collectors have sat up and taken notice. SO well done to them. However as several of us have tried to point out this was not always the case and there are quite a number of great sets that they have produced at 100 which are still out there on shelves or worse on sale. The Vietnam PBR which NJJA mentions is a great example. The LRDG sets another example. So if Figarti have finally worked out the magic approach to making winners and the sets regularly sell out in 48 hours who knows Rick may well rethink things. So far Fiagrti has made numerous business model changes as they have felt their way forward. All companies need to be a bit flexible in their approach as they build up their position. Look how Collectors Showcase has progressed over the last three years. From Zombies to great Polish Lancers. K and C as louis will attest to did not descend from onhigh fully mature and perfect. They also tried a variety of approaches prior to hitting the sweet spot with Arnhem and Vietnam back in 1996. WB ignored their customers back in 2002-2006 and nearly destroyed a great company. Thankfully that is a thing of the past now.
Let us see what transpires. Rick has always come across as a great gentleman and astute business man. A business responds to what customers want so I am pretty sure Rick is monitoring things and will make changes where he feels appropriate.

Very True and I think that Brad has handled the position admirably and properly....He is also entitled to his opinions as a fellow collector......GOOD Job Jazzeum

I am cofused, One day he is not going to be one of the lemmings and then??
First he says this that he will not play:
Brad says:
I think I've stated the position so no need to repeat it but you've got release after release in limited numbers of 60 in the USA, with collectors getting it into a feeding frenzy of "if I don't get it NOW, I'll be shut out." It's not just a question of having a dealer holding it for you but having to make a financial under some duress and on the fly. For some buyers with more economic werewithal it's not a problem but for some it is. Look at the 88 that's now on ebay; the seller was covering his bases to make sure he'd get at least one and wound up two. Of course, he'll probably do ok but that's not really the point is it. Also, dealers also have inventory carrying costs and room problems themselves.

Like I said, it's not a game I'm going to play anymore and I think some others are in agreement with that.

My apologies to Rick, his team and Figarti for those comments. I will continue to support Figarti in the best way I can (including with my $$s ) and as we speak I hope to have the Priest in the near future.

Now he is getting a Priest??. So when he said the first one was he just saying it so it will clear the way, So it will make people pause, and not order and for him to get the " Priest"?? Is that what happened because obviously he is getting one.

And he has apologized to Rick, So I think. He is A better MAN for it. But, He also learned a lesson" to be a moderator. You need to moderate Yourself first and foremost." And Closer to the definition of ""MODERATOR""

It became a different thread, when it became a thread of complaints.Instead of wish to haves. A problem of multiple versions it says, But it is a problem That we wish to have: to own multiple versions of each item that we got, but each version made differently.

If you have a problem with a moderator, then deal with it as a PM. Brad has been a longtime member and collector of this forum long before you started whining out loud about him. He has earned the respect of 99% of this forum for his past, present and future contributions. I suggest that you pick a fight that does not come across as sour grapes on your part..Michael

The USA has a thing called free speech. Just because one takes on the responsibility of moderator, said individual does not fore-go his right to express his opinion on a given subject. There is no conflict of interest here. -- lancer
See above.

Thank to you all for your support and also to Spartan71 for his comments. Criticism does come with this position (which, by the way, is voluntary and is my way, as well as those of my fellow moderators, in helping out Shannon) and constructive criticism can always be helpful. At the same time, I do have opinions and will express them as the circumstances warrant.

I applaud your response....Keep up the good work Brad.....Regards Vezzolf

And my Apologies to you Brad, It has been heated and adversarial at most times in this thread. I Just like what Figarti brings. I have the Utmost respect for Rick. And Now An Utmost respect to you.
Let us just enjoy This Great Hobby that we all have. For WE are Extremely Fortunate to have this Many Choices, To like or to dislike at times.

Spartan71,

No sweat, nothing to worry about. Constructive criticism is always helpful and it doesn't hurt to get a good kick in the pants once in a while :)

Figarti does indeed make great stuff. Their vehicles are some of the best we've seen in the hobby and the great thing is that Rick, Andy, Matt, Brian are always trying to push the envelope.

Best,

Wow - I missed all this last week - what a show !

I think I am going to Pop some PopCorn and re-read it again ! :p

Seriously - One thing that I believe that Rick should consider is there are some releases that are very popular which deserve more attention. A Winter 88 is one of them.

Why not produce more than one set ? Have another Winter 88 with different figures and poses - this way more people could still buy a very collectable item - it would be release A or B - like the same sense he used with the V-2 productions which I thought was very smart.

Ron,

Like the idea about having a A and a B model with different troops, even selling 88s on their own without troops as a general stock model.

Followed the 100 edition thread with interest, Brad (Jazzeum) I think you do a great job and your comments are always welcome even if I sometimes don't agree with them:). Figarti have certainly got their name known as a premier TS producer and any new release is now eagerly awaited. Amazing what a 100 88mm do for advertising.

With the sale of a winter 88 on ebay for $500+, who is not going to be tempted in buying two (or more) of a favoured model in the future, such as a Tiger/Sherman or Jagdtiger. This goes for speculators outside the hobby as well, surely they can see a winner, especially if they can double theirr money in a matter of weeks.

I know Clive (Grey-Goose) has turned away multiple 88 sales and I applaud his efforts in getting these models to collectors and not speculators but I think in the future "buy-to-sell" will become much more prevalent.

Clive, can I pre-order the next Tiger that Figarti do, just in case I'm not at my laptop when the details are released.:D

Before anyone goes "What Tiger?", there isn't one but there maybe one in the future - you never know.

Andy

Andy,
I'm glad you clarified that there wasn't a Tiger as yet.
I was waiting for the stream of pre orders to come in.

You don't have to worry, alongside a the usual happy band of true collectors/friends I will always try and give you the oppurtunity to buy the new releases, that's part of the fun when Rick and co announce something that we know a customer has been asking for.
That phone call or look of surprise at a show is only equalled by the comical groan as budgets and planning are thrown to the wind.
If it's any solace it applies to me also.
Regards
Clive

P.s. folks
I believe Andy is "deployed" at present we should all wish him the best of luck and stay safe!!
