Project AH (3 Viewers)

The wall was attached and both wings were painted. The base was raised and fitted into the scene. A test-fit for the frame size was made.

Coming on nice Victor, not far to go now :)

Hi John,

thanks for yr input. No pics to post as all the recent work was rather pedestrian.

I raised the base level to fit nicely within the frame and epoxied it. Letting it set properly.

Modified the flag bearer.

Also painted and fixed the the two dead Fr soldiers.

Replaced the blade on the Fr officer sword.

The flag bearer has been altered.

The captain and two dead Fr soldiers have been added. I added accessories to the scene, mostly Historex. I even found an axe.

A patch of ground was added to the back of the base to seamlessly link it to the backdrop.

Then the rest of the Fr soldiers was added. Finally, knocking up smaller Fr figures to make up the back of a crowd scene.

Impressive work, Victor! Just a beautiful work of art. :salute::

Very interesting and peculiar pictorial style: faded, rough, dirty; it gives dynamics and realism to the scene,I love it... It looks like a painting ..

Hi Mark and Poppo,

thanks for your very kind comments. I think Poppo use of the term 'peculiar pictorial style' sums up my limited sculpting skills. Hahahahahha.

Some WIP on the bkgd Fr figs. Using smaller parts to create them. I have shortened the mtd officer and horse {ex-Tamiya mule head} to create some foreshortening when seen from the front.

Finished roofing the tiles on the stables.

I've finally done up the Fr figs as a horde. Sprayed grey.

All painted and ghastly looking...

Here's the back view of the horde and finally, the front where most of the horde is hidden anyway {phew}.

I added some roots to simulate trees and some foliage. I then finished painting the background. Then I painted and retouched the scene to tighten up some details.
Finally added some cotton wool for smoke. I may eventually add a ladder to the left side but it is mostly hidden anyway.

Following an initial trial mat frame fitting where the light source could be seen through the cardboard, I added another thicker internal frame to mask off the light source.

And guess what? It's done!

WOW !!!!

What a fantastic job, bringing a painting to life in 3-D !!!

I'm so glad that I have been able to see the whole of the production, and the all the stages of work you have done to achieve this masterpiece.

Well Done Victor.

Maybe in near future I can get a personal viewing when I venture to S'pore again ???????

Absolutely Brilliant!!!!...this has got to be your best yet Victor. {bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

Jeff :salute::

Victor,

I am beyond impressed!:salute:: I agree that this might be your best effort to date!^&cool^&cool^&cool^&cool^&cool

Hi Louis, Jeff, John and all,

thanks for you overwhelming support for my modest project. Your enthusiasm helped me to push on to complete the project.

I added a ladder and improved on some of the details here and there. I also varnished the ground to create a wet look after the painting. Here are the final shots showing hidden areas as well. Enjoy!

Hi Jeff and John,

thanks for yr kind comments.

I think that I hv learned how to work reasonably efficiently and fast on my projects.
Now focused on completing the modest alma-tadema piece while I launch simultaneously into two new ambitious pieces. Will start new threads on them.

Hi all,

While waiting for stuff to set and cure, I decided to add more foliage and branches to the trees here.

Think I’m finally done here😀

Hi GH n Louis,

once again thank you for yr always gracious remarks. I had always wanted to add more foliage to the trees as I thot they looked a little bare. Just waited for the foliage stocks to come in.
