More wip on all the other figs.

Starting to focus on the two main figs around the gun. I used some copper sheet to simulate the greatcoat skirts. Mainly scalelink and airfix accessories. Adding the accessories help to flesh out the figs.

Finally a grey undercoat to clarify details before the figs are painted.

Hi all, can’t show any progress for a couple of weeks. Why not? Cause I’m on holiday in Osaka!!!! Bloody hot over here. I’ve just visited Osaka castle and Himeji castle. All rooms bare and no samurai armour stuff….

Back with a vengeance. Furiously worked on the figs and almost completed this trio.

Completed detailing most of the figs. Ropes are made from wires. Ptg in progress. I’ve also started on bldg the base and scene.

Spent a really pleasant time over the weekend knocking up projects.
This one is based on a WW1 ptg by Fortunino Matani. Project Lucky Matters….

it shows Allied troops repositioning a captured German artillery gun in 1917.

I built up the base painted it and positioned the pieces on it

also made up a house from cardbd to stick to the bkgd.

Made up the bkgd for this piece. Also improved the dead German pose and added a bucket to the lower right corner.

thanks for your very gracious words. I just shovel putty and splash paint here and there. Sometimes I get lucky, that’s all.

Alex, thanks for yr query. I do sell my work. Single figs and a couple of shadow boxes mostly to local buyers. I have sent a small set of ptd flats to New Zealand. That’s all. Never considered sending a box diorama overseas The obvious difficulty with sending anything overseas is the freight and high likelihood of breakage. Even insurance doesn’t make sense. How do you fix or replace an LED strip etc? Dioramas are very complex and are not easily repaired replaced like single figures.

Hi Matt,

thanks for yr inputs. The undercoat ptg is to act as a primer for the later oil ptg. The colours help me to visualise the composition.

The last two figs were completed and added to the scene. The base was placed inside the box and I am now exploring how to finalise the elements and the details.

I’ve started to add more details and also testfitted the base which fits snugly against the bkgd
