Project X (1 Viewer)

Here's some WIP on some figures.

Upper row - boy was painted. The other figs still being developed. Notice how fat the lady and gentleman are.
Lower row - I reduced the heights of all the figs by up to 1 cm. Notice the vast diff in size between the figs.
Notice also the proposed skin tones of the figures. I am an equal opportunity modelmaker....hahaha.

I had another rummage thru my hoard. Found these smaller Mokarex Cafe Storme horses, suitable for my project.

The ever-growing number of pieces gives you an idea of the extent of this quixotic project.

It's a crowd scene from Lady of La Mancha...

upper row- I've quickly developed riders for these horses. In total, 6 mtd figures so far.

lower row- I've moved quite quickly on these three figures. The details are emerging.

Top row - Almost done on the three figs. I raised the height of the guy with a stick. The lady will have ribbons added next.

Bottom row - Adding more putty to the bodies which may potentially be seen from the side if the viewing panel is wide enough. OTW, mostly done too.

I've finished detailing this lady with ribbons and lacing on her Victorian dress. Ready for painting.

Ive reduced the heads of bighead and the fat lady. Also redid her dress. The other figures are also partly resculpted and painted. Where the figure is partly hidden, I don't bother with the details. One of them is pinned behind bighead. The figures are more or less grouped together to show their juxtapositioning.

WIP on these two figs. I opened up the greatcoat of the elegant man (following a detailed examination of the painting) and added more putty body to the other figure.

I resculpted ***in and extended his right foot, checking his pose against Tiny Tim.

Shaping up the mtd figures.

Recruited more heads. Upper row is grouped around the fat man and lady. Lower row is grouped around the elegant man. I have fully clothed the racing queen.

Nothing much happening here but these two pics show that I have only reached the halfway mark with the number of proposed figures. I really need my head examined. hahahaha.

I hvn't forgotten about the titans. Here's two of them attached to yokes. Yokes are made from plastic strips. I've really lost it.

Remember the scene from Samson and Delilah? Victor Mature is harnessed to the grindstone until his hair grows back. This piece will take just as long....hahaha.

So how many men does it take to carry a yokee bar? This is a poleish joke.......

I attach the back of the heads to the pole with a pin insert and epoxy glue to strengthen the joints.

I spent a pleasant couple of hours adjusting and adding limbs to these titans.
As they are to be placed upfront, might as well make sure that all the details are in place.

I've finished sculpting ***in and the elegant gentleman. Gave them an undercoat.

Note the size difference which is exaggerated by the closeup from the camera. ***in is about the size of the titans.

And now for something completely different.

I knocked up this structure from some cardboard and a cut Easter plastic egg shell. I had bought a mess of these eggs for some proposed Easter egg painting but that did not happen. I mean what do you do with Easter eggs?? Fool the chickens?

I've painted the structure black. It will probably represent a concrete sentry box. I saw a couple of these at the Madrid Palace museum...

a.jpga2.jpg

Of course, I got it wrong as usual. Upon enlarging the painting, the structure turns out to be a hexagon, with unequal sides. &^%#!
So I rearranged the structure and it now looks like this.

I painted ***in's face and also Tiny Tim face and hope to match the tonal colours.

I've completed the elegant man and have posed him behind the kids. I have also moved bighead to this group. There is a hidden figure behind him (extreme right of the pic). Although largely hidden, I will build up the body of this figure just in case one can peer thru the crowd.

The rest of big head and his buddy have been sculpted. I've also resculpted ***in's face and completed his body. I've painted something on the sentry box structure.

The titans have been further sculpted, checking that the three figures are lined up correctly on the yoke. Then the back of the figures were joined and strenghtened with more putty.

I added more details to this strange structure. When the paint had dried, I added gloss varnish to the painted panels.

Nice work, but you are still keeping me wanting to know more about this project ........ ????

I've given tiny tim a begging bowl.

I've further modified this strange structure and added the cross of Lorraine on a couple of the panels. It's Bram Stoker stuff....
