I did exactly this although admittedly I did not know what I was doing (my first FL purchase ever). It took a few months but I found a set of flag bearers plus the drummer and the piper. I was not easy finding them, some came from the UK and the others from Australia, not cheep either. Would I have purchased all the highlanders and waited to find the missing figures if I knew then what I know now, probably not given the risk to not find what you are missing and then you are left with an incomplete collection (fine for some but not for me).
I'm very happy that you were able to collect the whole line. It might just be me and that's fine but I'd much rather have 30 beautiful figures from a release of 32 figures then wait and miss them all. Its not ideal but as you've shown it can be done, and I'm sure your very happy with the end result.
It would be much easier hunting for the missing 2 figures then waiting and having to hunt them all down at a later date.
It's a hobby and meant to be fun, and there is no right or wrong way to go about building your collection, its an individual choice. I'm just trying to help fellow collectors with knowledge I've gained from being a First Legion collector since the Bavarians.
This same topic has been brought up many many times over the years and it always ends the same way, the standard bearers always sellout first. By em early boys or be left wanting, thats just how it is. Hear me now and believe me later :wink2:
