Question: Has Traffic/ Posts on this Forum Dropped? (2 Viewers)

It’s a simple question. It seems that the traffic has significantly dropped.

How much do you think?

If not, which subject get the most traction?

Has that changed over the years?
As.
Yeah, it’s just an anecdotal observation.

What do you guys think?

Carlos

In our time WW2 has eclipsed all else.

Every observation here is anectodal.
In our time WW2 has eclipsed all else.
We think that a fun collection includes as many eras and areas and types as possible.
But if I were to start a company, or compete from a lofty position, I would go WW2.
Everything else is up for grabs.
All the best

I don't say they haven't produced enough new releases in the last months. I even didn't like what they did before the virus, I mean in the last 5-10 years, not in the last few months...

KC, for example.I recognize that their Viet-Nam line is dynamic and well done, but, usually they always make the same fighting poses; and their standing figures( wild west, ww2, Dickens etc.) in a dummy-pose-Del Prado-style, with the head looking on one side to give an impression of life! Maybe they think that this way the figure is useful for evertything... But especially it is for nothing!)

FL: the viking-saxon line is boring, same fighting poses than crusaders etc...JJ, same thing , boring, repetition of the same poses just change colours and some other details...

I will do a small dio with 2 saxons and 2 vikings, very intriguing and lively figures and I will show what can be done to make something more intriguing that catches the eye...

FL samurai line: extra boring! Same silly poses( dynamic and static) and nothing original, just different clothes. I will show a samurai dio with a really great surprise!....

The golden age of toysoldiers is clearly behind us,the market is saturated, there are less collectors and the main companies, if they want to sell, they must make an extra effort in CREATIVITY and IMAGINATION, and not keeping on adding silly, repeated one million times poses to a range. I will show examples.:salute::

What is clear from your post is that no matter what the brands do will not be enough to satisfy you. I am sure talented producers like Andy and John etc appreciate your thoughts that they should make an extra effort in creativity and imagination. We can only wonder what sort of series or figure you would come up with that would stand out. I look forward to seeing your dios. However the brands create the figures not the subsequent collectors dioramas.

Wow, this would have to be one of the most negative posts I’ve ever read on TF!

Seriously, you need to find yourself a new hobby if that’s your opinion.

I love this hobby,I adore toysoldiers, they make my home alive, they are colorful, they are like friends to me, but I don't like repetitions, I always like something new. I found in metal kits some living poses and "out the beaten path" figures. So, I am happy:eek:

To be fair his signature is; "Happiness is the absence of the striving for happiness." I'd hazard a guess that he's not an overly 'Positive' person :wink2:

Seek the truth in yourself, it is unwise to look to others for enlightenment.
As I type this, the bank won't accept my traditional cheques. Gotta go online and give up security for whatever hairbrained plan the latest IT fecker thinks will give him job security for the next two weeks. This virus had unhinged people. They are scared and therefore dangerous.
My usefulness here is over. Ugly conversation online will destroy us all, so I want no part of it.
I'm off the forum. Bye bye all my friends. No hard feelings. See you on the other side of the grey curtain. Maybe.

Don't worry, all be fine. There is always a solution to any problem, even if now you don't see it yet.:)

In the keyboard drama days not that many years ago we had some celebrity characters on this forum.
Alter ego's like "Mitch" and "Bayern" were a few "Classics". Things stayed busy then. Arguing
back and forth until the threads got shut down by one of the Mods. Ahhh, the Good old days !

Ah yes, Bayern. My favourite thread of all time was the one where he started a poll saying that dealers should not be able to post here. I think he may have even specified K&C dealer. This was clearly aimed at me as I had disagreed with him a few hours earlier (can't remember what it was about but it involved him sending nasty PM's to me and a few others and me learning a term I was not familiar with before). Anyway the poll basically became a show of support for me or him. Was nerve racking initially but if memory serves 80% voted the correct way {sm4} 59/13.

However he did have an amazing collection. Last time heard of him was about 8 years ago when Canadian Forum had issues with him.

In those days you could count of regular "engagements" and deletions, infractions, suspensions and imposed exiles all over the place. I am sure the Mods remember those days fondly^&grin

Remember Harrie the Head? He was hysterical, always stirring the pot, but with such a great sense of humor about it! I miss some of those guys!{sm4}

No idea where Ron went. He came to a couple of the New York Symposia years ago, but then fell off the face of the earth. If you are out there, Ron, as you so often said, NAPOLEAN!:salute::

Please say hello to Harry for me.

Another thing that has dropped the traffic considerably is the loss of so many of our old friends. The passing of Shannon Reuss, Lawrence Lo, Chuck Harris, Joe (The Lt.), Bernard (Cardigan), JohnnyBach, Chuck Harris (Evilchuck) and so many other members of our little band has definitely cut into the traffic considerably.:(

How about and I can't remember his last name, John, who would have a laundry list of stuff he wanted KC to make and ended every thread with Ciao. He passed away. He was fun. You had to love his enthusiasm.

Lately no Phantom Warrior and UCLA1967.
I'm still worried about LaRRy.

Yes, John Gambale passed as well. Ciao, John!
