Raining Rocks (1 Viewer)

This does not bode well for these citizens. Always coming up with new ideas Steve. Robin.
Thanks Robin, I knew I would have a dioramic use for the couple of handfuls of Volcanic sand I bought back from a holiday a few years ago, the white rocks are Pumice ! ;)

The beginning of the end for the huddled masses.

Yes, horrible deaths awaited those who sheltered in place, rather than made their own escapes, for some, whatever the reason, be they a slave ordered to stay to protect the house from looters, invalids without help, so unable to, or of course those unwilling to accept this horrendous situation, their fate was all the same !

With so much of the ruins of not just the city, but the bodies those who did remain behind having been found over the years, and with the plaster casts of peoples and animals last moments, making it quite personal in a way, it strikes a chord with us, where as other natural disasters such as the many earthquakes we know occurred and destroyed many cities in Antiquity do not.
