Its a cold damp day here in south central Wisconsin. At this moment (2:45 p.m. CT) its only 59 F and raining off and on all afternoon. The cloud coverage has been effective at blocking out a good portion of the sun light to such an extent that we have the lights on in the house. What a great excuse to do nothing but enjoy my W. Britain figures. Here's a little homestead scene I created yesterday using the farmhouse and smokehouse from Traverse Dioramics, and a grassy base and foliage pieces from Hudson & Allen. The backdrop is an actual photograph of Seminary Ridge at Gettysburg taken by Ken & Ericka Osen . . they had the photo enlarged to 32" x 20" and mounted on 1/4-inch foam board . . . . one of my favorite backdrops to use . . . I've been busy with this set up all day and have posted several photos over on the First Legion forum . . . . thought I would spend some time with my W. Britain figures . . . . This photo was loosley inspired by the events that occurred around the Sherfy barnyard on July 2, 1863 at Gettysburg. The 114th Pennsylvania Zouave regiment was sent across the Emmittsburg Road to support a section of Union guns and to protect it from being overrun by the Confederate advance coming quickly toward them. I said loosley because the Sherfy farmhouse was made of red brick, not logs.
