Thanks for your concern Rob. You know, I've actually heard this, but don't know too much about it. Did it say in the study whether it was Desert, Mid-War, or Late War British figures an armor that would best assist in the healing process? ;)

Anything British at all it said, but i'm guessing Commandos,D Day,Desert.Cures all ill's apparently!;).

Before I start getting too far into our most recent visit to Beijing, here’s some snaps from our visit last September when we picked up my first Thin Red Line order that was sent from the UK

Chinese Curio Shop

Wish I could afford that furniture – the price was clearly beyond the means of Mr & Mrs Average from Shenzhen

Once it starts to get dark, all the Neons come on, the smells, the noise, the food, the giant plasma screen TV sets stuck on the sides of buildings – It’s great. Just like being in the Blade Runner movie

Yup Folks – People were actually eating this stuff – Japanese Tourists mainly. I’ve tried those brown bugs before. Surprisingly good if you don’t think too much about it. Bit like rich custard – honestly

These are from our most recent visit in March.

We tried and tried to get tickets for Sarah Brightman's appearance in Beijing that week - but no chance. They were sold out months in advance - cos she's EXTREMELY POPULAR in China

Rob

Are you kidding...?? The atmosphere is brilliant Rob.
Everyone's extremely friendly, tourists and nationals, and want to try their English out on you, (which means they end up completely confused when they try chatting to me). Sure they'll try and rip you off - that's just part of the fun - and apart from keeping your wallet on a reinforced 360 gauge steel chain - its extremely safe - I've been down some VERY dark alley's that I wouldn't dream of bopping around in back in the good old UK.
Avoid taking your good lady there? Of course not - its my good lady who takes me to some of the places I grace with my presence. Which is a real drag at times, cos she cramps my style with the bad ladies. Every time I try smiling and chatting them up, and just generally mugging at them - I get yet another skelp on the lug..!!
:p:p

Cheers

A picture paints a thousand words – so they say – so I’ll minimize the commentary.

Jeff

Reckon so Jeff.
I think I've another shot of it coming up later today - but I acually need to get some of the "W" word out of the way first.
"Work" - that dreadful word that tends to get in the way every now and again. Still, it does finance all my other hobbies.
Let's see now; drinking beer, taking wee holidays, buying minature figurines and taking photo's of them, sleeping, watching Kenneth More/Humphrey Bogart/John Wayne/etc DVS, reading Viz comic, and THE most expensive hobby of all - Missus Heid.....
:eek::eek: :(:(
......ummm, I'm sure there's a lot more - just can't think of them right now.
Better go and get some electrical switchgear operating again. The nationals on the night-shift broke it last night. Hopefully its terminally broke and I've no spare parts - so I'll have to wait a couple of days for them to be shipped out via the supply boats.
I'll be back......later.

Wow, Heid! Love the F86 Sabre and the Mustang . . . the wrecked spy plane is wild!:cool:

Yeah, the Mustang I can kinda understand - but where did they get the Sabre in nationalist markings from? Must have been left behind on the mainland when the Nats withdrew to Formosa (Taiwan).

From the relatively new to the relatively old next - if I can keep the internet connection for a reasonable length of time.

Isn't it a P-2 Jeff?
I dunno, guess I'll have to look up my standard reference book online - The Airfix Catalogue.

2nd Last MG.
Actually this was just a little corner given over to The Nanking Massacre. I have to say that I was somewhat surprised they didn't make much more of it, considering what happened there in 1937 - and the Military & Civilian death toll.

Harry

Great pics - love the tour of China !

I plan to get there one day - never been outside of Hong Kong in the old days of 1990.

I understand - especially after the Olympics it has become very tourist friendly ?

Ron

Harry, those are wonderful pictures of your trip. I really enjoyed them. That's as close as I'll ever get to being in China I'm sure. Oh and your "skelp lugger" is quite lovely as well.
