Ranks for the Treefrog Army (1 Viewer)

All I can say is that I personally don't get all the fascination with the ranks and the post counts. I don't just mean on the Treefrog forum. Another site I used to moderate members would get angry if a post of theirs was deleted as it lowered their post count. REALLY !?!?! Give me a break.

Text talk was a big problem on that forum and thankfully it doesn't apply here. They did implement a minimum 3 word reply which in fact did help with the situation.

then the amount I have had deleted I should be back down to private. lol

Seriously, I can see why the rank system is used for a bit more entertainment but, its just that unless some actually believe they are that rank which, would not surprise me.
Mitch

P.S. Please don't take this away I want to be a captain

I don't really care about the rankings at all, but I do enjoy this forum, but the day we impose some sort of police force on what folk can say or how many words they can post and I'm out of here.

So that's all we had to do? And here we were thinking it would require much more work :D:D:D

If people start going way over 20,000 posts, we can always add the rank of "Those who need to step away from the computer and get fresh air" at 25,000

This offends me. It seems to be directed at a few easily identified members who recently vehemently protested restrictions on what constitutes a worthy post. :D

PS. I did nothing to incite them.

Rob,

That's still there. If you go to Community, click on Members List, then click on Posts, it will provide you with the list from most (you) to least.

Cheers,
Brad, you never cease to amaze me with your knowledge. I had NO idea this feature was available. Very interesting and useful. I keep learning things, thanks to you.:D -- Al

I wonder if the wife will allow me more spending money if I'm a four star General Joe?;)

Thanks Brad. Wow, when you do it there are pages and pages of members who have not posted a single post!

Rob
The number of non-posters is currently 596. Not a single post from that many members. How can someone have nothing to say about their hobby? Beyond me. -- Al

I would imagine you are offended Terry, how would we debate which side the log goes on with limited word allowance!:D;)

Not so unusual. It's typical of a negative skew distribution pattern where a small number of participants are very active, a greater number are just active, an even greater number of participants are only moderately active and so on to the end where a large number of participants are inactive.

Which brings up the question - is the ladder on the correct side of the Jagdtiger. And are you going to accept the UK position as the Governor of Worthy Postings :D

'UK Governor of worthy postings', surely thats a contradiction in terms!:D;)

I'm not saying that "Like" and "Thanks" buttons should replace posts added for those purposes, but it might be nice, if the software has those features, to make them available for use, too.

I agree with you guys completely, we should not decide to limit or remove posts for content, except for content which violates the forum rules to which we've all agreed.

Prost!
Brad

And--this will drive Peter and Shannon nuts :D -could we have the ranks in other languages? Unterleutnant sounds so much better than "2nd Lieutenant".

Prost!
Brad
