There was no negative or offence in my tone. I just say how it is. I believe if it had been wrong or, other either a mod or, Brett would have said so. It is your right to post your opinion about something but, its also the same about the other side. I have always said if a run states 300 or whatever it should stay at that. The reason why I posted is the comment that it took you a while to realise how nice it was!!! thats not what you said about it at the time which, is one of the reasons why I posted a comment with your response and, not a group post, hence, why I put no offence intended at the end of my other post.

Perhaps the limitation of the releases is simply based on the maximum of good casts possible before the molds are worn out !?

And making new molds are just too expensive for a small number of copies.
Doing my own resin castings I know about this problem. Once the molds are worn out, that's it! {sm2}

Oliver,
A very good point. That never crossed my mind, and I build models as well. Well start anyways We wouldn't want too many air bubles in the casting.

If Collectors Showcase puts out a new Berlin 38` Diorama set in the next few months and it is appealing the lesson learned here is buy it if you like it and don't wait too long. {eek3}

CS have made some excellent buildings over the life of the LAH range and, never made a dud IMO. Looking forward to the next reich building and some new marchers and extra figures to further expand the range

I am sure you will eventually find the extra sets for the building as they will soon come out of the woodwork

I think for all practical purposes these are all long.......gone. If Brian does another Berlin Diorama set I am going in head first without hesitation. !!! {sm3} BTW...doesn't tinging and sarcasm equally exchangable ???

As others have mentioned, they should have jumped on the purchase of a then perceived "hot" item and did not do so. Let me put another crack in the thought process. What of others who were not collectors at the time of the items being up for sale and would now love to have the item available for purchase. Are we to wait for a high priced auction sale in order to achieve that goal? Nothing wrong to make a profit, but a new interest in toy soldiers is developed every day by someone.

What of others who were not collectors at the time of the items being up for sale and would now love to have the item available for purchase. Good point made. Collectors are a revolving process,coming and going everyday.

But that's a general problem, isn't? Everyone who gets into this hobby has this problem unless you wait for the introduction of a complete new line and start collecting this line from day one (ie. FL Romans). If you jump into any other (already running) line you will sooner or later become a hunter of retired releases. But this can also be a interesting part of this hobby - hunting for "treasures". {sm4}

Great post. It also goes back to my initial point that everyone cannot have everything and should be happy with what they have. It would be a boring hobby and, would probably kill it were manufacturers to just endlessly keep reissuing the stuff in case a new collector enters the hobby and wants something or, someone misses it deciding whether they actually fancy the asthetic appeal of a set!!!

Good point. I only recently purchased my first K&C Hessian. I wasn't really interested in the series, when it was issued, if for no other reason than some inaccuracies in details (eg, the officers have moustaches--wrong!). But now that Frontline and John Jenkins both have Seven Years War series starting up, those Hessians can be used in some dioramas, and I'm not too averse to modifying them to fix the details. Of course, it means buying them on the secondary market, but since the price is purely speculative, I can wait for bargains and/or haggle.

Exactly. Some have said, be happy with what you have. I may have misinterpreted the meaning, but I myself am not yet satisfied with my collection. I strive to make it better, more inclusive, and complete. I won't be satisfied until the man with the sickle visits. Strive to better, not be complacent. We'd lose welfare if most would do this.
