Operation Nordwind: January 1945: Members of the 45th US infantry division are on their way to the front near the village of Ramstein in the French lower Vosges mountains .Their opponents are the 6th SS Gebirgsjäger Division;But where is the front line ? The 1 Lieut. seems to have lost his way. It's a cold morning on that mountain path, some fresh snow has fallen and the men are in a hurry. The soldier with the 50 cal on his shoulder is asking the passenger of the trailer if he can put his heavy load in the trailer.There seems to be no response.Somebody left in a hurry and forgot his axe in the logs. Vehicle and men received a complete re-paint.

Guy, Bulge dios are some of my favorites and this one from you is excellent. Great photography and you have created an atmosphere of a very cold morning in the forested mountains. Looks great!{bravo}}

First Class work once more Guy....Great composition and the backdrop really creates atmosphere!!!, I"m sure i have the very same photo (borrowed from the Net) stored in a folder (BACKDROPS) for a future Ardennes project!!.

Down to 12 degrees in Oz this morning and your picture sent a shiver....beautiful!:)

Guy, As you know i am a big fan of the winter bulge.Your dio looks terrific ! Where did you get the back drop from ??? It really sets it off well.

Guy mate,
Fantastic dio cobber. I hate snow and I am a desert man ^&grin but that is great set up. I once again am beginning to think that small is better. Tells a more compact part of Military History.
Cheers Howard

That's awesome Guy! Suburb extra detailing on the jeep and trailer and fantastic choice of backdrop! I give this 5 stars definately. {bravo}}

Guy, I like a lot of your posts and enjoy all your dios - like this one, thanks.

Thank you guys for all your positive comments . The back drop comes from the internet . Just type "Ardennes in the winter/ snow" and go to "images", you will find not only this back drop but a lot more winter picts taken in the Ardennes with or without the snow;
guy:)
