Another great year for John. Time to pick a favorite for 2011. I'm going with the white Fokker D.VII. As a runner up, the Jacobite Lowlanders.

I like those lowlanders too, but I will vote for the Lothar von Richthofen Triplane as my favorite release. This could change when I get my hands on the Kempf triplane.:wink2: -- Al

I have to agree with you. The LVR triplane was my favorite release of the year. The weathering and colors on the plane are great!

I was happy to tell John at Hack that not only did I think his WW1 US AEF Ambulance was not only his best release but imo, it was the single best release in all of 2011. A little pricey, I think, especially through the photography skills of the Polar Bear, that that set fills a niche that has been missing for quite sometime. It is just a really neat little truck that has charm oozing out of it's floorboards. {sm4}

My favorite is the T-26 but that's not the question, is it, so I'll have to vote for the WW I airplanes. Really great stuff.

The Baqqara Lancer, what an awesome set and a great addition to the line. Keep em comin JJD!

I really like that one too. My concern is that it seemed a bit small.

To me McLaren and his Sopwith Camel is my favorite
i have to admit that he is a maple leaf too.
Also got Ace 5 Fokker DR1 (yellow) with Lothar and Jacobs
So to me have to say WW1 airplanes
The ford ambulance was very little in real life
saw a restoration and the driver made it look small
I would say the JJ one is up to scale, got one myself (very neat)
Maple Leaf

The Richthofen Triplane was the favorite until I rec'd the Kempf aeroplane this past weekend.

This beauty.

My first JJD and certainly not my last :)

It came a little late to the party, but my favorite JJD release for 2011 is the Cobham's Dragoon for the '45 series.

A great mounted figure with more to come.

I agree 100%.

Walked right by it at Stans shop. Took me awhile to find it. Doesnt appear to be too terribly fragile however, just a tad small.

I am partial to the German Fokker triplanes, my favorite being the red, weathered MvR mount, with MvR figures and dog. A close second would have to be the striking yellow LvR mount...don't make me choose:)

Baron Von Santa lands just in time for Christmas, this is my wife's favorite JJD release of the year. It's yet another example of John's kindness and generosity as it was a gift from John to her. :)

okay...so far...everybody has made some pretty nice choices...

I think my favorite set for 2011 is the USCHART-03 Artillery crew...

while one of the three sculpts is pretty generic...the guy holding the ramrod...

I think the other two are quite dramatic and innovative...they really tell a story...when a pose does that for me...that's what I really like...

the guy with the linstock...who looks to be stretching out as far as he can to avoid the possible risks from the discharge of this gun...his tenative pose makes me think he is well aware of the dangers of his position in this artillery crew...

the guy crouching and holding his ears...I can help but think of the tremendous concussion they absorbed from standing so close to these guns as they discharged...

both of these dramatic poses make this set my favorite...they really tell a story for me...

I think these two figures make this set one of the nicest artillery crerw sets I have ever seen...very unique...
