Life for the guys at 62 Ladder was definitely looking up last night

Polar Bear "I get it!" Tommy was best when he came from beneath the rig.
That was funny when he had them all drinking again.
I will say it again, we can use a lot less of Sheila, that is really getting old.

Never fear ER's Maura Tierney will be Tommy's new squeeze for the upcoming last 6 episodes.

Hmmmm.. I think she used to hang around Engine 1 and Truck 6 here in Hartford a couple of years ago;)

I saw this week's episode last night. When are we going to be rid of Sheila; shes finally gone over the top for me. On the bright side, there were some great moments in the firehouse.

Gentlemen, I spent 21 years working at the firehouse and I can guarantee you that things like that ALMOST never happened.:D -- lancer

Did you have hose racks at your stations or hose towers?;)

Hi Bill. Of the 4 houses I was officially assigned to over the years, 3 were relatively modern houses with hose rack/dryers. The other house was an older house with a hose tower. Many a rookie took a bath at the top of that tower:D. That older house had bay doors so narrow that the ladder truck had less than 6-7 inches clearance on either side with the mirrors pulled in. Had to be backed in as rear entrance couldn't accomadate the truck's turning radius. Even the engine was cramped in that old house. Heck, when I first started working, we still rode the back-step on the engine company, as our engines had no buckets. Ahh, the good old days. -- Al

We had 14 Engine co and 6 truck co and two tactical units in 3 districts. Yeah, I remeber freezing on the back of the old Macks with the hose cover pulled over your head to try and keep the snow off. Even the Companys that had Lafrances with buckets made the men ride the back ha

Is it just me or is this a longer season then most? Not that I'm complaining it just seems that we have more then the average number of episodes and I still haven't heard anything about the season finale.

They stated in the beginning that it would ba a much longer season. Can't remember how many episodes. Must be making up for losing a year to the writer's strike.

23 episodes this year--6 to go including tonight's.

Last night's episode was rather fractured and disappointing until the last 10 minutes with the fire sequence and the arrival of Maury Tierney's character. Ryan Adam's song My Blue Manhattan went well with the fire including its line "Fire and rain on the street". I liked the way it was intercut with the noise of the fire. Since the song comes just after Tommy's confrontation with Janet and Sheila at the firehouse and just before he is kicked by Tierney as she tries to make her way into the burning building, it is appropriate that the album's title is "Love Is H--l" which might be described as one of the main threads of all of Rescue Me. I liked Franco's double take after being told by Tierney that "you're gorgeous". She did'nt kick him either.

I have watched this show from the beginning and it almost lost me in the earlier seasons with all the perverted stuff that went on but this season has really won me over. I am in stitches almost all the time. The fire house and fire ground scenes are very well done although I still think these guys are the most screwed up group of firefighters you will ever run into, away from the job. Honestly, 99% of the men I worked with over my career were pretty normal, with wives, families, mortgages, etc. Still, this show makes me laugh and that makes it a good show. How does one spell cumf correctly?:D -- lancer

Lou was able to "rescue" the cake from Janet and Sheila--classic!
