Rescue Me Fans (2 Viewers)

Lou was able to "rescue" the cake from Janet and Sheila--classic!
I liked how all the guys were plowed over when the 2 fighting females left the kitchen. Got 'em all at 2 different doors. Great scene.:D -- lancer

I was thinking last night how this season will end. Damien, Shiela,s son will be killed in the line of duty.
That could set up another whole scenerio for next year.
And yes this season is longer because there was none last year.

I really dont think I could take Sheila going nuts again.

I agree I think Damien will be killed in one of the upcoming episodes. I thought it was a bad idea from the get go to increase his role in the series. I like the idea of the fallen firefighters son becoming a firefighter like his father but in this case I'm not particularly fond of the actor. He just doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the cast that well.

IMO killing Damien is too obvious, too easy a way out. It would be much more realistic to injure him, with the many subplots that could arise or, better yet, transfer him to another house. Mom could then go visit her psycho destructive behavior on someone else for a change. I would not miss her and Tommy could recover his senses. :p -- lancer

The Carrot episode was hilarious and kudos to Sean and his never ending stupidity. Anyone care to hazard a guess what is in Kelly McPhee's (Maura Tierney) metal case? Since this season is aimed at 9/11 (for example, see last night's dream sequence with Tommy near the Twin Towers) I wonder if it might contain a nuclear device of some kind like the infamous suitcase bombs?
Could she be a homegrown terrorist? She is definitely a woman of mystery and there are only 4 episodes left. The show has been renewed for another season. Lenny Clark (Uncle Teddy) will have his own show this year called Brothers I believe. He is very funny when they have him in the broadcast booth at Fenway where he and Dennis Leary sometimes show up.

The Ron Howard reference by Maura Tierney in the firehouse kitchen comparing Tommy to Opie was likely meant to be an inside joke/plug since Tierney will be starring in he new TV series Parenthood based on Howard's film of the same name. Howard is executive producer of the NBC show. The show has been put on temporary hold due to Tierney unfortunately being diagnosed with breast cancer.

I thought the first half hour of the show was horrible, almost turned it off. I just hate those dream sequences and whenever Shiela arrives on the scene. I,m starting to feel the same about his ex wife also.
But when they went to the guys in the firehouse it renewed why I like the show so much.

Gotta agree with Gary here. I have never liked the dream sequence stuff. I suppose it is an attempt to illustrate Tommy's demons and his PTS disorder stemming from 9-11. Can't stand the two women either. The show really shines when at the firehouse or on the fireground. Dennis should keep the show within the firehouse confines IMO. There are plenty of stories and goings-on there to make the show interesting. -- Al

The grocery shopping scene* was great but after that it went straight down hill. Kelly is no help--just another flaky female for Tommy who appears in a few episodes and disappears. Sheila can definitely go. She has become a very stale cliche and Tommy would be well rid of her and so would we all. With only 2 more episodes left I hope they don't waste them.

*We shop for groceries at a store near one of the Manchester, NH firehouses. Almost every time we run into about 6 guys from the house doing their shopping for the house kitchen. The pancake section always seems to be popular :D

Well, to quote the old baseball cliche, you can't hit a homerun every time. Last nights show lost my interest right after the grocery store. Leary needs to get the show back into the firehouse some how and away from all the private life stuff. The action is where the interest lies for me. The kiss-kiss stuff with all the same old angst is just boring. * Plot idea* Have all three women jump into their cars to go visit Tommy at the firehouse and, in one of lifes little ironies, have them all collide at the same intersection and explode in a huge fireball. Them Tommy's fire units can respond to the call thus neatly wrapping up the season. I think it will work.:p -- lancer

Polar Bear, Lancer, cannot agree more. Last nights show was plain horrible! I actually thought the grocery store bit was stupid too.
It,s almost as if Denis Leary is saying this is my show and it,s all about me.
And who would ever think that you would get tired of looking at great looking women, well I have.
Gary

I agree, and while I like Denis Leary and enjoy the show.....it seems to be his own personal excusee for jumping into bed with all these different women!

Have to wonder what his wife thinks!

I got a huge laugh out of the grocery store! "Crouching tiger, hidden HOCKEY PLAYER!". I really get tired of Sheila, although her bit with the lighter really did come close to a full explanation of Tommy Gavin's psyche. I did enjoy the husband-wife bit with Tommy and the ex. "Another Gavin family dinner comes to its predictable end". The Maura Tierney character is just weird. Yet, I keep tuning in...

Just as a comment on casting, I have a hard time looking at Tatum O'Neil and seeing anyone but that character Adie (?) from "Paper Moon". What a great movie. -- Al

Dang, missed it again. Will have to pull up on demand today. Has the show been renewed for another season

Yes.

Denis Leary and Lenny Clark were co-hosts this AM on ESPN's Mike & Mike. He said this season's DVD set will be in 2 parts since it was 2 seasons combined. 1st half in September and 2nd half in December.

Ever have one of those days??? I checked here this AM to see what people thought of last night's show and was surprised to find nothing. I then checked out on demand to get a look at it and guess what, it wasn't offered.
Go figure.:eek: Sometimes it sucks to be retired and lose track of time. Sometimes, but not that often;)

Once again, I find myself wishing that Leary would work more firehouse and fireground action into the show, because this is where the show really shines. Last nights show was heavily private life and as a result, somewhat dull and predictable. Never the less, it was still worth watching as Tommy is becoming more understandable show by show. The constant drinking is getting old, though. Thought the jumper scene a bit over the top. Can't see a real situation being handled like that. -- lancer
