This i thought was incredible. These concrete memorials mark the spot where the Gliders landed,so close to the Bridge with a river behind and in the dark, now thats flying!

Was so pleased i actually got to walk on Pegasus bridge. It was very quiet but you could imagine the noise of hob nail boots on the bridge, yelling and spitting sten guns as the Paras took the Bridge.

Merville battery one of my favourite places in Normandy. These bunkers hold excellant displays and film shows. One Para on film describes how everything was panic that day. With Germans firing at him from all directions he charged towards them outside this bunker firing his Sten yelling 'Ba******s,Ba******s!!.

This is a wonderful memorial right on the beach like that. All the beaches have memorials behind them etc,but there seemed to be very few pillboxes, bunkers on the British beaches. They looked like very normal beaches with some memorials here and there. The US beaches seemed to have retained more of the defences surrounding them.

Honestly guys for any of you thinking of taking a trip to Normandy i can offer but two words of advice..DO IT!!.Give yourself a few days there and really explore.I am definitely returning to do more around the beaches and also go into the Bocage,i am also going to the spot where that Spitfire found Uncle Rommel whilst out for a spin in his Horch.

Sammy, thanks for asking me to post them.It finally spurred me into action to post something.I have posted nearly 7,000 posts and yet never a single picture of anything. Now with the help of my wife,Harry,Brad and a dozen other people who have offered help i can start to post pics more often.

Hey Shannon, thanks for the album idea, am definitley going to do that.

You are very welcome Rob.
Will be busy today (things beginning to happen at last here in PHC). When I get the chance I'll put together a step-by-step procedure for you for posting photo's on the forum.
In addition, Shannon made a good suggestion regarding putting an album together on your profile page. As you know, I have several on mine. It's also dead easy to do and you can make it public, or accessable only to your friends, the choice is yours.

Cheers :)
