I have previously converted some Camel Corps troopers into Royal Artillery which required some major surgery involving removal of arms and weapons and such like then a repaint, so I thought this time I would choose an easier route to obtain some more British Regiments for my WAN collection.

The Royal Marine Light Infantry have not yet been made by WB and so seemed a likely candidate for a few figures. Donor figure is from the Zulu War range and required removal of cuff detail, modellers putty was used as the trousers had to be lengthened to cover the gaiters and a puggaree was added to the sun helmet. Then a repaint as shown. I am quite happy with the result and have a few more figures waiting to be modified.

Thanks

Jeff

You said you're quite happy with the results, and you should be. That's a job well done.
While you're at it, you might want to do a few as KRRC with black belting instead of white. - Was thinking of doing that with some JJD RMLI.

Great work Jeff, looking forward to seeing more. :smile2:

I never could quite get my head around the fact that you painted for other people, Jeff - but collected pieces painted by others?

Glad to see that the desperation of NOT being able to get the pieces you wanted from the makers of the range - has forced you into sploshing a bit of paint'n'putty around - to get EXACTLY what you want.

To good effect too - they look just as good - if not better, than the normal range of figures - and not just because nobody else has any!::cool:

Good jobs! - more on the way? jb :D

Funny you should mention the KRRC - great minds think alike! :wink2:

Jeff painted a couple of pieces for me a few years ago, a RHA and a pack camel. Really superb. There is even a thread on his progress in painting the RHA.
