Rugby - England v Australia (1 Viewer)

I enjoyed it thouroughly Brett, always good to beat them and we have a put to together team heaps of injuries.........................^&grin

Is it Lent again?

For non Catholics, the reason this post is funny is because purple, preferably a somber, dark shade, is worn during the penitential seasons of Advent and Lent. Purple signifies great solemnity, with connotations of both penance and royal dignity.

Anyway...I laughed and that's all that matters!

So when you wear that legendary jacket of yours you can probably understand why some laugh. We have really been thinking "Jack must think it is Lent again"{sm4} Or perhaps it is not yours and has been "lent" to you^&grin

That jacket is all class. When velvet smoking jackets are 'in' again, I'm going to be ready!

Is that something to do with 'Jack' ^&confuse

Oz,
Could be read either way. Jackson and Price were purple enthusiasts and so is Jack (OK velvet). They do have that colour in common so I guess they are trendsetters in their own way{sm4}.

I knew I should have kept my bell bottomed jeans from the late 70's for when they come back in style{sm2}.

Will anybody answer the original question ? Can not see how England end up with purple Rugby gear. Charity thing perhaps.

I am surprised you gave them away - you probably purchased your shop's computer while wearing them!

Well, whatever the reason we need to remember what the national colours are. Purple indeed!!! good win for you but, I would put it down to the fact that we could not clearly see each other with the god awful shirts!! (thin I know but, it once worked as an excuse for moan utd and alex ferguson)
Mitch

Apparently the choice is a 'regal' shade of purple, fit for a country known for its royalty.

Why are England wearing purple ?

Brett

Don't much about Rugby - but thought maybe everyone would get a kick out this photo. I was in Rome a couple of weeks ago and was able to snap a few pictures/video. I am told they are a a Rugby team from down under.
