Looking good Matt.

Like the blast damage to the road, although it looks like most of our roads around here on a good day anyway ^&grin

Looking forward to seeing how you fill out either side of the road.

Simon

Thanks! I've improved the road but not enough significant changes to put up new photos, what i'v done is built a little drain, i've evened out the dust to make it more subtle and i've raised the edges on the explosion hole just to make it seem a bit more explosiony :p Well i'm now building curbs out of plasterboard which is the most frustrating thing possible, new photos will be up when the pavement is completely finished

Hey people, i decided to put the photos up today because it seems like i won't be getting the new trees and grassmats for a while because i'm going to focus on building the figures instead of the actual scenery. So far i haven't spent a single penny on this diorama, it's all recycled stuff i've found in the house. The road is made from sandpaper, the pavement is made from some crack filling stuff from the garage, the curbs are made from a long strip of balsa wood, the trees are from an old train set i had when i was little, the stream is simply dried wood adhesive from the attic and the twigs and soil in the wooded area are just from the garden. All is about to change though, i'm about to spend £40 on the figures alone :( oh well hope you like it so far! Remember in the wooded area there will be a few more trees added in a few weeks time.

Nicely done Matt. Really enjoy seeing scratch bilt stuff, and you've done a cracking job on this.

Simon

Hey, quick update. Just ordered four sas figures and four insurgent figures off netmerchants, should be arriving in a couple of days and pics will be up shortly

Here we go, finished painting all the figures. Here are some pictures of them. There are 4 sas figures, 3 insurgent figures and 1 civillian. The civilian is a hostage btw. I might get some more insurgents in the future.

those highway/road sections look fantastic- something I would like to get my hands on someday for my Iraq collection.

Thanks people, these are the first figures i've ever painted really so they're not nearly perfect but i'll improve over time. I'm ordering some stuff this weekend such as grass mats, fencing, maybe stuff for scratch building a house and possibly diecast cars. I'm 15 so I'm completely new to all of this but when i'm older I hope that i can build dioramas up to the standards of other people's on this forum. Some of the one's I have seen i have had trouble working out if its real life or a diorama because they're that good. I'm going to have to get rid of the lines on the road because i messed the road up, I accidently built it in 1/70 scale :(. Oh well, it should look better without the lines because they stand out too much and don't blend in with the rest of the diorama. Well hopefully new photos will be up next weekend
