I really like the D-day Rangers sets that KC released and have all 4; however I wanted more figures and was disappointed when they bought out the pre-d-day sets with men just standing around. Not my thing.

I managed to get some USMC from the Sands of Iwo Jima series for £40 a set on ebay. – bargain.

I know these were not that popular but the poses are great and so I sent them to Dave at TM Terrain – he had already done a great job on multiple FL Crusader archers I wanted painted to provide some variety.

He did an excellent job (as always); I really like the colouring of these; we dispensed with the glossy element to show wet uniform and I think they look really good and complement the sets I have - you can see this in pics 3 & 6.

Very interesting and thoughtful solution you've got there to come up with more rangers in action on D-Day! I liked the results! Don't know though how those marines boys feel now in army uniforms...^&grin

Hello:

I had a whole bunch of US Marines by K&C between 2000 & about 2007, but I have since sold them all off on eBay some several years ago. It seems the old Iwo Jima series by K&C was not too popular. In any case, you have put the old K&C Iwo Jima Marines to good use! Very nice photos as well.

I'm a huge fan of "kit-bashing," I'm glad there are others out there who aren't afraid to customize their figures. I collect on a permanent basis, so I'm never worried about resale value, as long as it makes them more valuable to you, more power to you :salute::

Really excellent repainting.
Thanks for posting your pictures.

They now certainly have that gaunt battle look.

Nice repaint.
Avoid to take pics from too close a distance. Such pics show too much the roughness of the mould , so says my photographer.
