Right H, and they didn't mention Yetis, bunny rabbits or anyone from Eyota, MN USA so it must be Anti-Yeti, Anti-Bunny and Anti-Eyota Residents as well.
Come to think of it they didn't mention a single one of my family members who fought in WWII (at least not by their proper names)--must be Anti-Shannon Reuss' Illustrious Family Members who Fought in the Military as well. Of all the nerve .

I happen to know for a fact that Yeti's and Bunny Rabbits weren't present at Omaha on 6th June. Dunno about Eyota residents though, but I didn't mention that SPR was anti-Eyota residents, Can't be, cos they were never mentioned in the movie as far as I can remember. I don't understand the reference to your family members? Were some of them present during D-Day? If so, then they deserve our utmost respect.

Right bare with me!.I've never posted anything on here before.But i will ask my wife who's a whizz at this sort of thing.She took a load of pics from the Beaches,Pegasus Bridge,Merville etc and had them made into a book for me,God bless her.I'll ask her to maybe have a go for me,as i wouldn't know where to start.

There was a poll conducted in hollywood afew years ago as to the greatest movie scenes of all time; the first thirty minutes of SPV was voted #1; as in THE GREATEAST MOVIE SCENE OF ALL TIME.

I'd hardly call that "pretty good."

Also, hate to burst your bubble, but what did the British have to do with Omaha Beach and the mission to rescue Private Ryan? Don't see your point about the British and Canadians not being mentioned.

If they weren't mentioned and the movie was called "Saving Private Martin" about a mission to save a British Airborne trooper, you'd have a point perhaps............

Sammy/Harry,thanks for the offers guys.Believe me its very frustrating being one of the few guys on the forum who can't post pics.We have been struggling to upload pics on photobucket and flicker,so we may do what H suggests and email him some.Hopefully do it today but will defo do it in next day or so.

Funny thing happened last night!!!

i was playing my PS3 as a way to relax and playing Airbourne online with it!!!

Anyway it takes a few minutes each time to slide into a game online so i flick out of the AV channel and into my cable. SPR was due to start at 11pm!!

I finshed a quick 20min game online and ended up watching the whole film until 2am!!!

No that may not be funny but i have a recordable cable and i also have the fim on DVD and can watch it at anytime!!!

Sign of a good film to me watch 5mins watch the whole film no matter what!!

Awesome film and the end scene everytime makes me have a few tears!!

As most regular correspondents know, I've been stuck in Nigeria for several weeks now and have no immediate prospects of getting out of this Hellhole. Now, be that as it may, I have thankfully been able to contribute to my favourite Toy Soldier forum, and in so doing, have kept up with the exciting developments in our mutual hobby.
However;
Some members may be unaware, that this country where I'm presently incarcerated is home to gangs of very clever people who regulary carry out internet scams to relieve the innocents of their money. I have looked on in amazement as dozens of posts have appeared on this forum that did not originate from the point of my typing finger.
It is perfectly obvious that these foul creatures have somehow hacked into my laptop - stolen my forum identity - and have been posting inflammatory posts in my name and in my style of writing, in the hope of stirring up trouble for me. The posts in this thread attributed to me are a sterling example. As anyone who has read previous messages, genuinely posted by me will know, I don't care that Monty get's a bashing here. I don't care that the movie "A Bridge Too Far" is Anti-British, or that CapitolRon isn't. Ummm....And so on. I don't even care that ridiculous lists for some new K&C range that I've never heard of have been posted in my name. I'd just like my friends on here to know that;

I Love SPR As If He Was MY Bloody Brother.

Phew.....Oh, by the way, I've run AGV Free on my laptop, so that ought to protect me and hack off the hackers.

SPR is a terrific movie but it does have a few unnecessary historical inaccuracies, but 'that's Hollywood' as they say. I prefer Band of Brothers myself.

I know I will soon have to replace Battle of Britain, Kelly's Hero's, Force 10, Raiders, the Last Crusade, Where Eagles Dare, the Wild Bunch, the Outlaw Josey Wales, the Adventures of Robin Hood, Master and Commander, the Blue Max, Mash, Quigley DU, the Rock, Ronin, LOTR, Twelve O'clock High and Zulu among others. I was going to add A Bridge Too Far but it is too anti British for my taste.

On a serious note least Monty did not have a go at wounded troops like Patten did
I think some of you on here only know about WW2 through Hollywood war films
Facts
The war started 1939
German used horses & carts to move lot of there stuff

Market garden was lost because the Americans did not take Nimagen Bridge on the first day
It was US paratrooper who were found with the plans for Market garden on them by the Germans
