Hi all, I'm a newbie here having been referred to the site by a current member. I have built 1/35 scale dioramas in the past, that being the scale I collect in. Just wondered what you thought of my work so far..... Any advice or opinion welcome.

very creative and impressive!

Welcome! These are fantastic art works! You have a very distinct style and you make really eye catching and interesting models which tell a story...a violent one. Thank you! Really enjoyed viewing these.

Some inspiration for some of the aspiring modellers on the forum. Welcome aboard. Robin.

Cheers all. I really want to enhance my techniques, Im trying to build different shaped buildings, they're all made of cardboard, lollipop sticks and a bit of airdry clay. I've ordered a few bits for making some more realistic roads but I like the rugged look of my work. Some of the dioramas on this site are brilliant, and also the vehicles and figures are outstanding. I look forward to learning from you all

hi all,

The guy who makes these is Wayne. And what lovely buildings and dioramas he makes - from his living room floor (!) he is lucky he has an agreeable partner:)

As the owner of a few of them I have to say they are absolutely wonderful. If you like his rustic look his dioramas are just fantastic. I love all mine. some photos attached. Price also good.

please drop him a personal message if you want anything - he makes to order ! ive got more orders in the pipeline for him.

Cheers,

Stefan

You've done a good job on your buildings, I'd be happy to attain the same standard.
Well done ! :salute:::salute:::salute::

Thanks Steve. Appreciated. I love making them,nice to relax with a glass of red and paint. That's the part I love the most-you can make anything if you put your mind to it.

Those buildings are spectacular. Be great to hear about how they were constructed and finished?

Sorry for the delayed reply, I've never been onto any forums before. Thank you for the kind words!

All of the dioramas I make are built from cardboard, normally the stuff that is being recycled at work. They're all boxes which we use for transporting aircraft parts so I can obtain some really good sturdy material. The houses are all my own designs, and i do try and make the dioramas different every time. Keeps it interesting!! I have always been creative and loved making things so I am glad my partner pushed me to do this as a hobby. I use matchsticks,lollipop sticks, wooden dowls...contact adhesive for the putting together the main parts and then pva for the roof tiles and window/door frames.The buildings are painted with acrylics and the shading is done by a mix of watercolour and pencils. The main thing is time, they take so long to construct but i know in time i will probably get a little quicker at doing them. I'm looking forwards to seeing all the other work people do on here.

Thanks again, Wayne.

Started a couple of french buildings, a town house with some advertising on the side of the building and a medievil type house with a over hang and steps leading upto the entrance. Waiting for the adhesive to arrive to get these stuck together but they're looking promising. Pics to follow....

Pics of my next projects, sorry if they're not great or the right way! 😂

Very effective to use the cartoon the way you do.....I make the front of the buildings with polystyrene and stucco, but also great the buildings in 3D you do...I really like your work!{sm3}

Now this is awesome work. Thank you for showing photos of completed compositions as well as your works in progress. I really like the color palette that you work from too. Such wonderful painting and details.
