So, I finally purchased my first CS AFV - the Sdkfz 251/C Afrika Korp edition, plus the booster pack. Great looking vehicle and figures, and goes better with my K&C Afrika Corps stuff then I expected. Love the broken track feature and the ability to add figures jumping off - two things I'd like to see other manufacturers offer.

BUT - I can't for the life of me figure out how to put the figures on the vehicle. Not just the booster pack figs, but the included ones. I know there are pegs on the soldiers feel and holes on bars that swing out from the vehicle, but even with the pictures on the boxes I don't know the right way to put them on.

Are the any kind of instructions for this? I can't imagine I'm the only person with this issue.

Any help anyone can provide with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Mark, you will love that 251. I have the winter version w/jumpers and it's great. Just watch out for the "exploding foam"!

It took a while to figure out how to place the jumpers, I looked at the box photos and the CS website photos. I ended up putting the figure on the base, then placing it on the vehicle. Some bases I had to bend a little but they do work after a bit of "fitting".

If you think that bad try putting the side armour on the Panzer 4 :rolleyes2:

I have the normandy set with the jumpers and it all went to gather quite easy. The jumpers are a little lose but all and all one very nice piece. Sorry that's not much help :redface2:

No. Frustrated to the point I'm considering selling both pieces.

Also...I don't see how that many men would even fit in the Hanomag...but I find that amusing in a clown car kind of way.

Did you get your jumpers on ok?

Nice pics. I only use the guys that came with the hanomag as its to crowded when everyone is attached. I do use the jumpers in a dio setting leaping into a shell hole running from incoming which, makes them look better

Good idea mate.................{sm4}

Well, looks like I'm really going to need the super glue, but not for the reason you suggested, Tom.

In attempting to place not even the jumpers, just the one jumping figure it comes with - the arm popped off. That happened with VERY little pressure.

I'm sure it's easily glued back in. But if I wanted to glue something together, let alone have trouble assembling it, I would have gone into modeling.

I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in this model and in Collector's Showcase in general. I wondered how such great looking AFVs could be modular and cost so little money, and now I have my reason.

I'm done with CS. Can't take it back to the store, so I'm going to be selling the Sdfkz and the booster figures (which haven't been opened) for a discount. If you're interested, PM me or e-mail me at marksable(at)aol.com.

I'm also considering selling the Natal Carbineers I own. Don't get me wrong, I've been happy with them, and that's what made me try to venture into CS' WWII collection...but I don't want to press my luck. Feel free to contact me if you're interested in those.

Mark,

Let me take this opportunity to apologize for the trouble you are having.

Every customer is highly valued and it is very sad to hear of your plight. The hangers on the Sdkfz 251 were difficult to work with no doubt. I would however like to see you with a smile on your face! TCS would like to see you pleased with our products so:

Please (the item is sold out and still in high demand. So we can use it here with the jumpers) package everything up and send it back to us. We can offer you full value on any other item in our catalog and even credit your return shipping. This gives you an opportunity to try another item which we're sure you'll be pleased with.

This offer always stands for anyone that is ever unhappy for whatever reason. We would prefer your experience with our products be second to none than have you unhappy with any item you've acquired.

TCS customers are kings, second to none

Best and Kindest Regards,

Brian

Brian, you are the man! Mark if that don't work for you nothing will. One does have to play with the jumpers to work but I think it is a great model. I have the winter one myself. The hangers seem to be a little soft but, that maybe because I hade the jumpers going the wrong way. Still, love it and am looking forward to seeing more great items from TCS.
