September dispatches. (2 Viewers)

Welcome to September, with another bumper release spread across the ages! All the figures featured below will be available around the 25th of September or slightly earlier depending on UK customs controls!

Last month I omitted to say a big thank you to Wayne in Australia and Guy in Belgium who both helped with the idea, design and research into our recent FJ Anniversary figure. So once again thanks very much for your help guys, where would we be without you?! Onwards and upwards please as they say, and read on for our latest set of releases.

Napoleonic British Cavalry

NAP 026/027: Featuring two mounted officers from the 18th Hussars/Dragoons on a reconnaissance patrol. Both are wearing the uniform of a senior officer of the 18th (King's Irish) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons (Hussars) from the Napoleonic period; more commonly referred to as the ‘18th Hussars’. Following the military fashion they changed their uniform and were designated hussars in 1807 but for some reason their formal title continued to include ‘light dragoons’. I guess somebody forgot to remove this extra title and it was never deleted from official records!

The Regiment took part in the 1808/09 Iberian/Corunna Campaign (including Sir John Moore’s epic winter retreat over the mountains) and returned to the Peninsular in 1813 for the final stages of the war in Spain and the invasion of France later that year. In 1815 they fought at Waterloo.

One officer (NAP027) points out some suspicious activity on the horizon which could be the French, whilst his companion (NAP026) draws his pistol ready should it be needed! Our B version figures wear the Busby style fur hat suitable for any time after 1812 including Waterloo and the A version wear the Tarleton style helmet suitable for Iberia and the Napoleonic campaigns before 1812. These 2 beautifully painted figures are slightly more expensive than normal due to the high level of detail, but at $85/£69, I think they are exceptional value, and with only 100 of each they will not be available for long. Size wise they will fit in with K&C and Collectors Showcase and before I forget, thank you to John O’Brien with all his historical help on these figures, any mistakes on these figures please blame John!

French foreign legion

FFL 007 Die Infidel!

Join the army, see the world and meet lots of people from different cultures! An unlucky legionnaire meets his maker at the hands of one of the locals who is obviously not too pleased to see him!

This is our first set featuring a Tuareg with many more in the pipeline, due to many many requests for some opposition for our gallant legionnaires. We sincerely hope you like this set, which is limited to 100 of each version and priced at $69/£50. The A version legionnaire comes with a Kepi whilst the B version Legionnaire wears the colonial Pith hat also issued to the FFL based in tropical climates.

By pure coincidence AL054 German Officer just released by K&C looks like he would fit nicely in with the Arab figure from FFL007. Great looking figure by the way K&C!

Australian Light Horse

ALH001 Officer Command Set: Features 2 officers on foot watching the battle as it unfolds. Can be used with our Lewis gun team or with another well-known makers Vickers MG set! We plan to launch some mounted troopers early next year so watch this space! This 2 man figure set is priced at $69/£50 and limited to 100 in number.

ALH002 A/B Lewis Gun Mg Set will work extremely well with the above or on their own – you decide! The Lewis gun teams were an integral part of the LH formations and provided valuable fire support for these light fast moving troops. Both our troopers from the A version wear the Aussie bush hat with ostrich feathers and sport tropical style khaki issue trousers. The B version figures wear dark brown trousers with the gunner sporting a bandage dressing on his head.

This 2 man figure set is priced at $69/£50 and limited to 100 in number

LOA011 British Officer Command Set; Comprises 2 officers from the Dorset Regiment wearing tropical issue trousers and locally produced Pith hats, purchased in India prior to the units deployment to the Middle East. Will work great with the Ghurkha/British Stokes mortar or Hotchkiss MG set we produced earlier in the series. Priced at $69/£50 and limited to 100 in number these are a must for any Desert WW1 diorama.

Desert Rolls Royce

LOA008 Rolls Royce with Lawrence: Our last version of the ubiquitous Rolls Royce with Lawrence of Arabia dressed in desert robes gracing the commanders hatch. Limited to 100 in number and priced at $139/£85.

Alexander Decker

GW014 Comprises 2 WW1 pilots, one poses for the camera whilst the other photographs him – maybe its for a sweetheart back home?

These 2 unique looking figures will look great with our upcoming polystone 1/30 scale WW1 planes or dare I say it – other manufacturers planes? Priced at $69 and limited to 100 sets as per normal.

Berlin 1938

BER002/003 SA Mounted Police: The SA were the predecessors of the SS and were noted for their strong arm tactics in dealing with any opposition Hitler faced on his rise to power. All military style organisations have some sort of police arm to keep law and order and the SA were no exception. Our A version figures wear the traditional SA brown coat and trousers whilst the B version are from the Berlin Police detachment, these troops wore their civilian police issue blue coats and as such were visually quite different from other SA units. BER002 sits patiently waiting for any potential trouble whilst BER003 throws up the Nazi salute, both are very flexible sets that can be used in any number of dioramas. Priced at $79/£60 and limited to 100 of each version these are also likely to be popular sets with collectors!

Luftwaffe Ground Crew

LUFT005 is a very unique looking ground crewman dressed in coveralls as he prepares to speed off round the airfield on his Zundapp 500 motorbike! Our A version rides a grey motorbike suitable for the European campaign and our B version rides a yellow sand colour bike suitable for Rommels desert air force troops! Priced at $79/£55 and limited to 100 of each number this will be a superb addition to all you WW2 airfield collectors.

Lynx Reconnaissance Tank

SS052 features a very nifty late war reconnaissance tank, the Lynx or Luchs was based on the Panzer 2 chassis and was armed with a 20mm cannon. Approximately 100 were made and served on both the Eastern and western fronts with the Wehrmacht and the SS. Our A version comprises a tank with commander figure suitable for the Normandy campaign and our B winter version is suitable for the Russian or Battle of the Bulge campaigns. Priced at $125/£89 and limited to 100 of each version.

100 Club Figure

Club 005 figure Kurt Knispel: One of the greatest tank aces of all times with a total of 168 confirmed kills, although the actual total is thought to be higher. Knispel served in virtually every type of Panzer during his rise to fame, but despite his impressive kill record was never awarded the Knights Cross. This is attributed to his general lack of military bearing and for assaulting an officer he saw mistreating Soviet POW’s. Knispel was killed a week before the war ended in Czechoslovakia, just short of his 24th birthday. Our Club figure shows Knispel in relaxed mode sporting his goatee and long hair, so reminiscent of the photos available in today’s archives. Limited to 100 in number and available for free to all Club members who purchase $150/£100 or more of products direct thru our website.

Thanks to Dave Brener and others, who all asked for us to produce this figure!

Last but not least I have attached photos of FJ009A Anniversary figure with modified paint scheme on his goggles. Unfortunately these pictures were not available last month, so here they are now! We have around 5 of each of these beautiful figures left here so grab them whilst they are still available!

Well I hope there is enough above to keep everybody satisfied, if not then there is always next month!

Best Wishes

Wayne,

Thanks for posting the Dispatches today, with all those images, looks like you have been a very busy boy this afternoon after work !!!

:) :)

Love the NAPs, and having a choice of early and late eras is a great way to go, my choice will be the earlier Light Dragoon, so he can be used 'on patrol' in Spain.

Regards,

John

This is a really impressive group of releases. The FL and Arab swordsman are fantastic as is the AC. I am very interested in getting the Decker and photographer figure set as I will have a lot of use for them. A really fine variety this month. -- Al

I agree that the nicest are the FL and arabs....Very dynamic and realistics, really very fine sculpts... ( just don t like the polka-dot scarf KC style {sm4}).
I also like the german tanker very much..

good varied batch of releases. The AFV's look very well detailed and the track and wheels look as excellent as usual. The Berlin range has finally landed and they are nice figures. Knispel is a good figure I like the way this idea is developing. It may just be me but he has a familiarity with Peter Sutcliffe!!

Winter version of Lynx as soon as it is availabe, and summer version at some other time. These are all really great releases.

Wayne mate,
I hate to rain on your parade as some of those figures look really great but the Lighthorse are a bloody disaster. I am no rivet counter and can accept some small errors but these sets take the cake.

Lets just have a look at the ALH Dress Manual:

Lanyards: Green!!!!!!!!!!!! Khaki plaited cord and sometimes on general duty or ceromonial a white plaited cord.

Feathers: The ads for these sets mention Ostrich feathers when all Aussies know that they were EMU feathers.

Pants: The two sets of Lewis gunners show two different types of pants. The ALH were issued with "breeches - riding" and in one colour.

Gloves: Brown Leather worn by the Officers. The Manual states:
(1) Ceremonial Parade - when ordered
(2) Ceremonial Parade Tropical - No
(3) General Duty - No
(4) Full Marching or Battle Order - No

My order to my dealer on these figures is ZIP.
Cheers Howard
