Shyster, Shyster & Flywheel (2 Viewers)

So I guess this means no Alec Baldwin as Jimmy Doolitle figure. Well that just hurts...

could have just said Lawyer. A recent study showed lawyers in the UK were top of the pile for people who were least likely to be trustworthy!!!! after car salesmen and double glazing salesmen

I have to say that if we dig deep enough we could find something somewhere which, could be taken as offensive. can shyster really offend the jewish community or be seen as racist when they are not even mentioned in a conversation??? I am not so sure

I was at the Met training center for police officers and asked for a black coffee and, the looks on the faces of the people there was astonishing as if I had kicked a granny!!! you cannot ask for that as its derogatory to black people!!!!
Mitch

While it's origin is Yiddish, in the broader English-speaking community, it means a shady lawyer, regardless of his ethnicity or religion.

Maybe we should have said "Philadelphia lawyer" instead...

Oh darn, why collect anymore.:(

I was really hoping for a set of figures for Lieutenant Commander Quinton McHale, Ensign Charles Parker and "Old Leadbottom”.

Now let’s see how many of us old folks know who they are.

NO cheating by using the Internet!
HINT: I thought Andy would do a PT73 as his next boat! "I could just scream!"

Larry mate,
I'm old enough to remember McHales navy on black and white tv, good old laugh, a rare example of funny US television.:rolleyes2::wink2:

Hi Guys,
In answer to several posts…

1)“Movie Tie-Ins”
Some years back I had a meeting with Sales & Marketing people at 20th. Century Fox… They were very nice… very pleasant but were only interested in big bucks.

I tried to explain that this hobby is “very niche” not Franklin Mint or Bradford Exchange when they realized that this would not bring in mega bucks their interest rapidly declined.

I know another company spent lots and lots of money on movie tie ups with relatively limited return on their substantial investment.

So, not for K&C… sorry!

Actually, Andy, you could try the same dodge that Andrea Miniatures uses to get past using images from movies and TV. A 54mm resin figure of Spock from "Wrath of Khan" is labeled simply, "Space Officer", Clint Eastwood as The Man With No Name (aka Joe) from Leone's spaghetti Westerns is "Cowboy", and so on. So, you could come up with Flintstones figures, for example, and just call 'em "Cavemen". :D

Prost!
Brad

A very funny show, until they 'jumped the shark' and moved to the MTO. -- Al

I love the 'jump the shark' descritption for a show desperate to improve ratings. Got to love the Fonz.

By the way - thoughts on the movie version of our mystery show?

Didn't care for it, but then again, I don't like Tom Arnold. {sm3} -- Al

Jack old son, I don't recall seeing the Fonz on PT 73, and I always wondered how McHale and his pirates managed to smuggle Fuji to Italy.^&confuse^&confuse
And the last movie version with Rosannes ex - total rubbish.

Interesting topic to bring up for discussion none the less, and we did get Andy's view on it. Me personally would prefer the focus to remain where it is at present, producing what they do with added surprises along the way. Previously I mentioned Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan but figures along these lines have
pretty much already been done minus being specifically named so. Cheers

Jump the shark refers to an episode of Happy Days in which the Fonz - on water skis - jumped over a shark in a net enclosure. The phrase is now used to describe any attempt in series to have huge guest stars or an episode filmed in Paris, or in reverse, or both! - as a way to inject new life into a dying series. McHale and his crew tried shifting from the Pacific to the Med as their 'jump' the shark attempt.

I was refering to Happy Days and McHale's Navy in the same post. I have confused people!

Well thank the lord it wasn't just me! Couldn't stand Happy days and avoided it like the plague . The Fonz was annoying enough but his friends made me want to pull off my own arm and hit them with it.

Another example of Jacks Shark jumping is the change of character in ' two and a half men' the series bears no resemblance to it's previous identity and is surely doomed.
