I developed the idea to create a little diorama showing the top of a bastion and its defenders during the siege of Vienna by the Ottomans 1683. The finished dio should then work also fine for showcasing 30-years-war figures, architecture is pretty much the same. I started with some research of drawings from that time and present-day remains of bastions in Vienna.

Next step is creating the base from XPS foam board. IMG_4431.jpeg

Followed by cutting and shaping the parapet and the canon embrasures. I decided to build a top corner of a bastion. Also the stone floor was carved into the XPS and the brick wall.IMG_4483.jpeg

You're showing a lot of dedication in building this, having done similar in past, I can appreciate the time spent to achieve such detail👍🏻

I added some modeling clay to the wall and the top to give it a repaired and aged look. Also two sides of the base were covered wird modeling clay to give it a proper look in the end.IMG_4494.jpeg
