Sloppy Paint Job (1 Viewer)

Re: Slopy Paint Job

Does that mean the original poster now owns a unique Collector’s Showcase item that is a one of kind factory produced piece due to its different paint scheme which is not found on the production model?

First, I can't resist stating that I am amazed that a simple customer service issue between one customer and one manufacturer could lead to such a bizarre and twisted thread. I decided to comment as I was thoroughly shocked that this argument is ongoing.
Honestly, is this enjoyable for anyone?

Second, I appreciate Mr. Reuss's comments regarding the rude treatment of a fellow forum member.. I am another who does not post often as I've found my comments being needlessly attacked and I refuse to embroil myself in these silly thread hijacking debates.
I rarely post for the same reasons that Mr. Reuss has pointed out regarding the other member. It seems that a few bullies with too much time on their hands or with specific agendas try to dominate topics in a selfish and sometimes incredibly callous manner.

Third, the original painting of the tank shows less than optimal quality control by the manufacturer. The collector has a right to be unhappy.
Given all of the recent complaints regarding problems with their Romans and thin swords, poor painting, breakag(misspelling intentional) and so on, one might now wonder if quality control is a system wide problem for the manufacturer.

Fourth, a custom correction by TCS i[
U]s I suppose a nice gesture but it seriously begs the question as to why didn't TCS simply send another new set to the member?[/U] It makes me think that perhaps ALL other stock of this particualr(misspelling intentional) item have the same errors or issues.
Did they do a custom paint job because there are no correctly painted vehicles in their inventory? While the solution may be acceptable to our fellow member , what does this all mean for any of the rest of us who might consider buying the same product.
I cannot believe that TCS would do a custom correction UNLESS they did not have a good set to send to him.

Fifth, while in the process of bringing his personal complaint to light I thank the collector for alerting the rest of us to a potential problem with similar items in the TCS range. Like his spelling or not he's perhaps unintentionally alertd ( misspelling intentional) countless others to be wary.
Common sense would seem to tell us that we should wait to see this set in person before buying or to otherwise quiz our dealer about the paint job before ordering by phone.

I will now go see if I can find a productive thread to involve myself in.

I've read the thread thoroughly and must now pass judgement,...prepare....brace thyself:

Clearly the manufacturer is a great guy, (and pretty good looking too ) I would have to say that he handled the situation quite well and deserves kudos for his efforts to remedy the situation. You can call me biased but I know Brian very well and have always felt him to be an honest upstanding fella always willing to help out a collector in need! ^&grin^&grin^&grin

Cheers!

Re: Slopy Paint Job

CLEARLY this comment is directed at me and if I have in any shape way or form insulted yourself or the gentleman I would offer my sincerest apologies this very instant. I cannot possibly put into words how perplexed or puzzled I am that anyone who has read any of my posts on this forum or has gotten to know me over the years could possibly think for one second that I would ever intentionally insult a Nam vet. That would be tantamount to me pissing on the graves of my grandfathers- both Nam vets with multiple tours or slapping my NCOs in the face when I served with the 506- the bulk of whom were combat Nam veterans and whos experience taught me lessons that would no doubt have saved my life.

For what it's worth, my comment was made to lighten then mood, NOT insult people. I think I have razzed people before on spelling- even my "Cats in the Cradle" thread has a typo as cradle is spelled with one d. So clearly I have worn out my welcome and am retiring under less than honorable circumstances. Please delete my account, as I have requested from you several times before.

NAH, NAH ,NAH how did this become is BS Its the same old beat a dead horse crowd not Chris. I myself
love this hobby and respect and think Chris is post put some "cute" not offensive humor to as I say again
Beat a dead horse THREAD. Chris CURREHEE pull it together trooper no need to Leave :mad:

Re: Slopy Paint Job

Can open, worms everywhere…………

I compared the original poster’s issue with things that have happened to me as a collector over the years. You buy enough items and eventually you will run into damaged products etc. Every time I have ever had an issue it has been taken care of by Sierra Toy Soldier and that is why I tout them so much on this forum. The manufacturer is irrelevant (Collector’s Showcase included). Their customer service in general is amazing and when it comes to issues as mentioned by the OP, they go far beyond the realm of simple customer service. I suggested replacement as the most viable option as that is how my issues have generally been handled by the good people at Sierra.

Everyone should feel free to post here. It is a place to share and get feedback, and yes, it is a place where people will sometimes disagree. I would caution the creation of “an everyone has to be nice” type of forum. While people should be polite and courteous to one another, we should also get thicker skin and not take things so seriously. Slights and comments are just that, words. And words, unlike bombs bullets etc., only hurt if you let them.

As far as the typos? We have all made them, but it is obvious that Chris was not pointing it out to make fun. It was clearly meant to lighten the mood and up until the mod’s post, it had done that.

Finally as far as vets go I tend to think that most vet’s on this forum are great guys. All things being equal if I am out for drinks during a show or toy soldier event and I know someone attending is a vet, I will go out of my way to offer to buy them a drink. No offense, but in my mind anyone who has risked their life for me deserves to go to the front of the line.

Re: Slopy Paint Job

Jeez Louise! Enough already. Can we all agree that this is the last post on this thread? This hobby is suppose to be fun, a diversion from everyday life. There is enough rancor and back-biting in the real world, we don't need anymore of it here. Let's move on.

As an aside, I also noted that Bob was a fellow veteran from the 1960s. I really don't expect or even want any special consideration because of that fact; it was an honor and previledge to serve my country. It represents one of the highlites in my life. Most members of my family don't know that I have a 40% service connected disability---it just isn't that big of a deal. However, if you do run into me somewhere, I will let you buy me a beer.

Best regards,

Re: Slopy Paint Job

Since I am opinionated, figure this train wreck deserves an opinion. Cut through all the crap and this is a simple enough topic:

1. OP put out a complaint and it looks pretty obvious to me there is an issue.

2. Manufacturer (this is a general comment) should fix it without issue - that means thoroughly fix it. Customer is 99% of the time right, too small of a hobby to get this wrong, it is worth the extra mile to fix it as a collector will continue to pay you back - just like an annuity.

At the end of the day, the rest of this thread is bullocks. Simple issue, simple complaint should have been a simple fix.

As I like to quote often times, yet another example of "the beat goes on" Same beat again and again and again................."grow up" to the threadcrap on this thread.

Re: Slopy Paint Job

Just want to say that i had an issue with my berlin building. Called brian and even through some additional mishaps took place along the way brian overcame and took care of them . And actually i thought he would be irratated or show some frustration but instead he was very nice about everything, was positive and took care of things in a prompt manner. So i just wanted to publicly say thanks brian for a job well done. Take care -- greg
