Rob,
Thought you were picking up the Grant?
All good choices Joe, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the D Day sets, all the figures are just excellent. I also think the Monty figure is the best yet.
Rob
Just got my second snow tiger and flak 41 and waiting on new spit and ME262
Would like to pick up the cossack sets
Regards Scott
Rob,
Do you think that there will be anymore 8th Army releases this year. Or is it done Until next year?
Roger
Hey Roger, well I wouldn't be at all surprised if we do see more releases for the 8th Army this year, I think we may see releases for some ranges spread across the year as opposed to just one big hit.
Cheers
Rob
Glad, to hear that there might be a chance. I like to really expand my 8th army pieces, this year. Well, at least until The D-day/ Market Garden pcs. comes out, Stuka, And back to BoB. With a touch Of Crusaders/ Saracen. If anything falters.
Thanks For the reply, Rob. I appreciate it.
The Snow Tiger sure is a beauty, isn't she Scott? And you have two of them!I say well done.
I'm considering the Kursk Tiger. Do have that one, and if yes, would you mind sharing your impressions?
Joe
Dear Rob:
I have on order now K&C sets AK050 of a Mark III tank and K&C set EA029 of a British 8th Army Crusader Tank which will be displayed (by next month?) on a display wallshelve just below my "NORTH AFRICA - OCT. 1942" diorama of which I posted photos of @ the Forum last week. After that I intend at least to wait until K&C comes out with some more "action" sets for D-Day relative to US Army.
"Iron Brigade"
Roger (Spartan71),
I think you need to do a little reading up on your Military History. This year on the 11th April we Downunder will celebrete the 70th Anniversary of the start of the siege of Tobruk. (EA range)
I am sure that Andy being a true Military Historian also has not forgotten the date that the mighty Australian 9th Division along with the 18th Brigade attached and some 1500 Indian troops and British armour and artillery held Rommel's Afrika Korp at bay until relieved.
The generalship of Lt.Gen. Leslie Morshead who commanded at Tobruk is not forgotten here in the Land of OZ.
So my friend back to the History books for you.
Cheers Howard
Howard,
I agree with you, I do need to read up more on History. That is why I love this hobby of ours, For me each piece I buy, gives me the passion. To learn just a bit more as each one I get. That is why, I am hoping for more pieces to be made In the EA range. Be it British, Australian, Kiwi's, Canadians, Indians, etc.
just as long as they are not Marching (more artillery, Would be great), I am there to buy it.
Cheers,
Roger
I agreee - I don't collect marching WWII figures either.
But note - the Canadians did not see combat in North Afrika. Their first action was Sicily and then Europe from D-Day. We preferred the cooler climates. Let the Aussies and Indians have the hot weather.
