I just finished a couple of Sudan structures for my JJD First Sudan War collection...I always liked the color of the K&C Desert buildings (the SP Desert buildings)...so I tried to stay with that sand colored/burnt orange look...I put a lot of wood in these...probably more than is what is considered authentic...but I think they break up the solid color of the structures...these are both pretty large structures...one (the smaller 17"s) is to replace an office diorama shelf building that I sold to a Treefrogger a couple of months ago...the other (30"s) is just to compliment the smaller for a nice large scale diorama...I finished off the underside of these so they look more "complete"...here are some pics...I will set up a large scale diorama and post it on this thread next week...

Mike,
these are really superb big buildings, I wait to see the complete display.
Many many compliments my friend.. and that morning light is fine.
Carlo

Sorry Michael didn't get to see these before posting my last post myfriend and once again you've outdone yourself and can't wait to see your full scaled diorama,,,,,,,,,,PapaZ{bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

Michael:

Brilliant work! I think you achieved just the right blend of textures on the building facings. And the time paid off on the wood grain effect. That contrast between the sand walls and the bluish tint on the "weathered" wood creates a lot of visual interest without being distracting. I don't think you overdid the wood. For buildings of this size, it seems perfectly appropriate. Congrats on two great new pieces.

They are great looking buildings Michael :salute:::salute:::salute::...........my Gloss figures would look great on them ^&grin........not that your JJD figures don't already look superb:)

Can't wait for the large dio pictures{bravo}}

Cheers

Martyn:)

You never cease to amaze me with your unbelievable talent Mike!! Great job and like others have said, I can't wait to see the full scale dio you'll put together with these.

Mark

Jeff

Mike I Love the look of these buildings. What really caught my eye is the "double" level porch with wood flooring. Cant wait to see the set up with figures

Michael mate,
OUTSTANDING Cobber. Love the Sudan range and your building are the best.
Cheers Howard

These are great Mike, I am a big fan also of the colour and desert range of buildings. Love to have the talent like you, giving me the option of any building I desired to layout. These look a perfect shape, probably for me about the maximum size so as not to over whelm the figures. These will look fantastic with your other K&C buildings when they are set out in a village/town setting. Looking forward to seeing some diorama's. Cheers, Robin.

Really nice work Mike. Can't believe how large the structures are. Very realistic looking, good coloring and style. Think you have perfectly captured the period and stlye. Chris

Mike,

Looks really good, I can't wait either to see the whole scene! Again, buildings look really good.

Tom

thank each and everyone of you for the kind polite compliments...I really appreciate the encouraging words...I will try to do as I promised and get some "full scale" diorama pictures before the weekend is over...
