Your log cabin looks amazing Mike as does your whole display and really like the colour of your stream too!:salute::

I had a crack at building a small cabin recently, but nothing like yours. Really like the roughed up timber, shingle roof and chimney, plus the wood-box is a nice touch.

Thanks for sharing.

Toddy

Very nicely done Mike . . . . A little house on the prairie for sure . . . .
:smile2: Mike

Very nice, Mike! What are the raw materials that you used?

Prost!

wooden dowels for the cabin...
roughed them up on the grinder...

doll house shingles for the roof...
you can find them on Ebay...

the chimney is hydrostone bricks...
but foam would work easily...
it's covered in stucco patch...

the door is wooden coffee stirrers...

the wood pile is popsickle sticks and twigs...

Magic Water for the river...
tinted with basil green paint...

frame is baseboard...stained and polyurethaned...

dried preserved foliage from Woodcreeks Foliage...

the trees were from Hobbylinc...

it's for sale on Ebay...

I will take 10% off the auction price for any Treefrogger if you buy it directly from me...

I was hoping you were going to say that the logs were roots you dug up or small branches from shrubs in your yard :) Great job of scratching!

Prost!

hahaha...no...that would take a while to find straight pieces that would work...

the dowels are pretty cheap....58 cents for 3 foot pieces...

I used maybe 4-5 pieces...

Mike, you never cease to outdo yourself on the <NEXT> project.

Wonderful cabin and the entire set up.

AND ... thank you for the supply list. How long to build the cabin?

Marvelous,

maybe an hour or so to build the frame...

I use a chop saw and just measure, cut and glue..so it goes fast....

the door and chimney maybe another 30 minutes...

the roof shingles took about 30 minutes also...

they are so thin...the moisture in the white glue will warp them...

so you have to clamp them or else put something heavy on them til they dry flat...

same thing when you paint them...

they will warp if not clamped...

Michael;

You always do such wonderful, original, dioramas !

Groundwork, vegetation and accessories make the scene.

Love the door.

Well done.

I have to chime in too and say once again what a great job you do in building things. You are truly talented at this Mike!

Thanks for sharing all the details and how-to's. The whole piece looks great. If I had the room for it...........I'd commission one from you.

Mark
