Sometimes I weep..... (1 Viewer)

It's not just your country. I see stupid things happening here as well.

Somebody needs to give a good swift kick in the arse to the council members who reported that patriotic young gentleman to the police. What a bunch of useless gits.:mad:

I think Jack hit this one on the nose. Petty bureauocrats haven't earned their reputations as 'small minds' for nothing. -- Al

I find this extremely ridiculous and disturbing.
This incident would be worth creating an email address where people can voice their opinion.
A few "international" emailed comments in this case wouldn't hurt.
It should go as public as possible, so the council member who "responsibly" reported "criminal activity" will hopefully be confronted with serious consequences, and if it's only that he won't be up for re-election again.
Give that boy a medal, give that boy some very high ranking support.
Konrad

P.S. I also think that Jack is right with the reason for the issue.

Crikey...what is going on over there? not enough sunshine, too cold? something is amiss. What total BS.

Mate i weep at all the hot birds in the other stories,to be a young man again......................^&grin

Local elections yesterday, let's hope the locals made their views known!
You hit the nail right on the head there Jack.

The young man was reported to police not in spite of his success but because of it. It was someone's job to look after that memorial and they did not do it properly. He has made them look bad.

Give little people a little power and they will invariably show you how little they are.

Jack

Spot on Jack, brilliantly put.{bravo}}

Couldn't agree more Louis, whoever did this needs their arse sacked in my view. What gets me about this is that people always use the cliche ' Kids have no respect these days' . So here we have a young man who from the age of seven has spent 12 years respecting those who fell from our country in the cause of freedom and what does he get for his trouble?? Two hours in a Police station!!:mad::mad:

Disgraceful, shame on those responsible.

No mate, people just don't care! In my travels around the world i see how run down cities are, rubbish everywhere, neglect on public infrastructure, graffiti everywhere. Unfortunately the good old days of people caring are long gone.

Parish councillors don't have any power but, they like to think they have more than they do. They are supposed to be a link between community and official council staff.

Living in a hamlet the local parish council are rather bizarre in what they try and do and, after sitting listen to them debate whether to loan the Brownie's club £85 I can understand why this actually happened!!!!

What a complete waste of police time and a further reason why Parish councils should be removed. I am still trying to figure out the reasoning behind the Theft charges. Laughable.

I do agree, total waste of time and resources . Worst still is I wonder how that kid feels now about continuing his good work, I really hope he can rise above this and continue.

I'm with you Rob on this one. :)

I hope this teenager doesn't let this BS deter him from carring on his deadicated work at the memorial. {bravo}}

I and many others (including on this thread) think this is total lunacy, world is going mad. I too hope he continues his good work. He is a far bigger person than whoever reported him

Rob,

This kind of behavior is not an absurdity exclusive of your country, it happens in mine and in all... Bottom line it's just that horrible (and mostly disguised) side of human nature: envy, spite and resentment. He seems a one-of-a-kind boy, one to praise and admire, and then the "dark side" strikes those that should know better: "there's got to be something about this kid; humm... where's the dirt, there must be a flaw;" and so on. Sometimes such feelings grow so strong, that people will strike even irrationally, as is the case here. Small, stingy, mean... but so universally human. Shame on them! :redface2::mad:

Well said my friend, well said indeed. Small, sad, petty people, upstaged and shown up by a much younger decent person.

While there are people like this young man in the world there is always hope.
