Sickening isn't it. Sadly its an extension of the madness of a society that still cannot find answers to the domestic violence, sexual exploitation for money and bigotry that women find themselves caught up in every day.

Twitter really need to clamp down on this sort of thing.

I think they should be re-named unsocial networks as the amount of idiots on these things is staggering. Obviously to thick to realise that what they write is actionable. For me they deserve what they get for being just that stupid and, having the inability to control their emotions and temper.

Totally agree with this.

Here in Canada we have no women on our notes except for the queen herself other then that we have only men. I feel that we have enough women in our history including Laura Secord, Lt. Col Maryse Carmichael, Major Margaret Macdonald, Lucy Maud Montgomery, the famous five, Mary Anne Shadd and the list goes on. I personally think we should have women on our banknotes as well and strongly support that view. There is no need for threats and I noticed in my time that people are very brave behind a twitter or facebook account. I have had my life threatened a few times being a moderator of a drum forum however if half the punks saw me in real life I doubt they will be so brave. I was a bouncer in a gentleman's club and am rather large by most standards and if anyone threatens a women around me will get a good swift foot up the arse then I will teach them respect. The problem is social media has made Goliath out of a bunch of hobbits and people need to think that though they may find it funny, there is a real person they are threathing not an account or a blip on a computer monitor.

I think Thumper's mother said it best in Bambi. "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"!!:smile2:

Thank you sir and yes I am trying to fit in here but issues like this is nothing short of cyber bullying which is something everyone should have grown out of by this point. I think women should be on bank notes. Bank notes teach history and like the old saying says Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.

Apart from anything else we've already had Florence Nightingale on a bank note! So the idiots are about thirty years to late to start winging!:)

I could be wrong but as far as I am aware Canadian bills traditionally have the queen or one of our prime ministers on the front side and a scene on the reverse. Unless you want Kim Campbell on the bills I don't think you'll see any women on the front side. If you look at the reverse of the $10 bill you will see a female peacekeeper. There are actually six people in the scene on that bill and 4 of them are women. I think women are being fairly represented on our money.

the best is in EUROS were are no people, just monuments and landscapes, so no problem!!! :p

good point but my point is that none of the women are on the front and were people of historic background such a Wilfrid Laurier and others Like Lester Pearson. But no way would I want Campbell but perhaps Laura Secord would be good.

All of the people on the front are distinguished (well, supposedly distinguished) prime ministers except for the queen. I think that if they switched to famous Canadians, it could lead to lots of disputes. Some of the choices to be honoured by things like honourary doctorates are very questionable (Stomping Tom Connors received a doctorate). That sort of silliness is bad enough but if you put someone on the front of your money, they are there forever. If they stuck to people like your example of Laura Secord or perhaps Joseph Brant, I'd have no problem with it but it would only be a matter of time before the choices got expanded to include much less appropriate individuals.

Good point and well taken. All my luck Justin Bieber would be on the twenty.
