Not the greatest episode, but my expectations are always so high that it is not untill I watch an episode a second time that I like it more.
Next weeks story is supposed to be melancholy also, from what I,ve read.
I have all of the past seasons on DVD and can watch them over and over.In my mind the best TV series ever.
Gary

I liked it. I always have to watch at least two times to pick up on all the little details. Great show.

Gary, love that show. I don't have HBO anymore. I'm watching all the old reruns. I have a love hate with it, I can't stand there slimy life style. But I have a respect for how they police themselves. They give a black eye to all those hard working Italian Americans. But then again, so do the Irish mafia type people, to my race. It is amazing how a person could kill a 18 year old kid one moment, then go home and smile at his 18 year old son. I agree, it is the best show on the tube. But hockey playoffs I must admit, will over ride the show. I can watch reruns. Mike.

Just one man's opinion, but the show has really gone down the toilet for me. Last year was brutal, this year is not off to a much better start.

I used to love this show, not anymore, will watch it to see how it ends, but the thrill is gone.

The Pine Barrows episode is best one of the series in my opinion, easily in the top five best single episodes of any tv program ever.....................

Should have been "Pine Barrens", not Barrows. This site really needs an edit option............

Hockey Playoffs? I wasn't even aware the season had started yet; speaking of things that have gone in the toilet, the NHL is it.

That is only because you are a Bruins fan........GO RANGERS....Michael

I would have called that episode "Water, Water everywhere". Kind of a strange Twin Peaks feel about it, but still better than anything on network TV. The original B&W "Untouchables" series is out today on DVD! That was a great gangster show.

Haven't been a serious Bruins fan since the early 1990's, they played the Oilers in the Cup finals in 1988 and 1990, got smoked both times, Neely retired and it's been all downhill from there..............

I'm just watching free HBO Sopranos episodes. I missed alot in the two years without. The last one I had seen was, when Adrianna got wacked. The Bruins got wacked when they made that ridicules trade of Joe Thornton. I agree when Cam Neely's career ended, so did the B's. San Jose is going to win the Cup.Mike.:(

George, watch what you say about the Sopranos and hockey! You could loose a long time custmer!!!
As stated before, watch the Sopranos a second time, that,s what I did with last seasons to be on track with this new season.
Except for the stupid dream sequence with Tony, last years was as good as any.
I do agree with you on the Pine Barrens episode, one of my favorites also.
If you watch it again, I think you will realize the reason they could not find the Russian was that he had climbed a tree.
Gary

Putting down hockey, now there's some fight'n words George. Take this,"Two hander with the lumber to the back of the legs". Your a pretty big boy so I'll give you two wacks.Although the league has handcuffed the brawls and fighting there still is lots of excitement in the game. Not for the Bruins but there are plenty of other teams that will make this years playoffs exciting. I bleed RedWings blood but their first round performances in the last four years have been very disappointing.
Off topic of the Soprano's. Sorry for that. I don't get HBO(rather I'm to cheap to spend another $50/month to get the one channel out of the package worth watching). Cable is such a rip-off. Anyways I guess I'll have to get the DVD's to catch up on. The last I saw was Adrianna getting wacked to. That was great.....

Last thing I want to do is upset Gary and Brian...........:( ........., I'm just not into hockey like I used to be. Pretty sad state of affairs when the Bruins, Blackhawks, Canadiens, Maple Leafs (four of the original six), Flyers and Blues all don't make the playoffs.

Sad thing is I can rattle off the last 20 World Series and Super Bowl winners (and losers too) standing on my head, but can't remember who won the Stanley Cup last year, let alone who both teams were. Please explain to me how Columbus Ohio ended up with a team (no offense to any members who may live there) ..............

Gary,
I'm going to watch the Pine Barrens episode again tonight, at what point in it do they show the guy up the tree? Always wondered what happened to that guy.....................maybe he'll show up this season again, and who on the show do you think WON'T get whacked?

Have a funny feeling Bobby is going to, especially after the beating he threw at Tony, along with Paulie, Christopher (they were both in the episode Sunday for what, six seconds, my two favorite characters). Don't know if i ever told you guys or not, but the "Badda Bing" is actually about a mile down the road from a show I do in Hasbrouck Heights New Jersey twice a year. One of these times after the show, I'm gonna stop in for a cocktail or two or twenty. Somehow, I don't think the actual girls who work there look ANYTHING like the girls who work there in the show........:p ...........

I thought the new season started off with a dud as well. How disappointing..:( - Then again HBO also has now canceled Deadwood and Rome

Unbelieveable ! Mark my words they will wish they had not done that.

Ron

George, your forgiven about the Sopranos and hockey remarks.
In the Pine Barrens episode after Paulie and Christopher loose the Russian, there is a scene in the woods of Paulie & Christopher looking for him, but the camera angle is shot from a top a tree. You do not see the Russian, but in my mind it is implied from the camera angle that that,s where he is at.
It took viewing this episode several times that I caught it.
As to who will get whacked? Who knows, hope it,s not Paulie, he,s one of my favorites.
Deadwood was a favorite also, from what I hear HBO will do a movie "Deadwood".
My second favorite program coming up in June "Rescue Me" Anybody watch that?
Gary

The sooner they cancel the Sopranos the better. I just don't get why some people think these scum are something to respect. It's a similar situation to the attempts by Hollywood making out Hannibal Lector (a murdering canibal) as being cool.

Of course other members are entitled to their own opinion but consider the fact that by supporting such television shows and movies you encourage people to adopt this life style.

Oz,
Being that my father is an Italian American and proud of it, he shares your views and refuses to watch the show. He, as Gary will tell you, is also a retired Boston Police Officer, on the job for 37 years.

I think the ending of the show will be a message to people when numerous cast members either end up dead or in prison that those are the two places you end up as a result of the lifestyle they lead..................

I agree with Ron of Napoleon on this one.I loved Deadwood, gritty, realistic with some superb acting from the whole cast. Its always the way, you get a real good tv prog but it only lasts five mins.Typical.:(
