Spartacus - Blood and Sand (1 Viewer)

The first episode of the new season was pretty good. Some new characters and many returning. Certainly plenty of blood.

Well season 2 came to a conclusion last night. Any thoughts or comments? IMO I think the season finale was just as good as last years. I hope to see it back in 2012.

Finally sat down and held a Blood and Sand marathon yesterday. Watched the 5 episodes on demand and am waiting for #6 on demand. I enjoyed this season just as much as the first season. Just a lot of fun, if you can deal with the gore, sex, and just general sleaziness of the characters. Can't wait to see the finale as I am sure it will be a slaughter. I hope the producers have a third season in the works. I sure enjoy this rather unglamerous vision of Roman times. -- Al

I heard there will be a third season but they have to recast the part of Spartacus.

I wish they had made more than 6 episodes, but very entertaining. Some great actors for such a campy series. The finale was very entertaining. I see they have a new Camelot series - but I don't have high hopes for that one.

Got to see the final episode this afternoon. It was a good one. Once again, blood, gore, death everywhere. A fitting close to the season. Begs the question, did anyone in Rome have any honor but the gladiators? -- Al

Let's give Camelot a chance.Look at some of our earlier posts on this thread. We weren't too flattering about Spartacus.

I thought the first episode of Camelot was OK. At least good enough to watch. A few decent characters at least among the bad guys/gals - Morgan being the best of the lot. One thing that really bugs me though about a medieval series is when the characters have pearly white teeth and generally look like movie stars. Somehow I doubt that was the case.

Yeah I think they looked a little rougher than that.I've read where people in their 30's looked like old people.Life was a lot lot harder back then.

Wathced the 1st and 2nd episode of Camelot. Dunno if I will watch the 3rd. I wasn't to impressed. Don't ask me why but I have always been more of an "Excalibur" fan. Can't go wrong with a cast of Liam Neeson, Patrick Stewart, and Gabriel Byrnes. I forget the guy who played arthur (Nigel something) but I thought he did a decent job.

Sad to see Andy Whitfield (Spartacus) died at the age of 39. Was really hoping he would pull through.

I understand he had two children which makes it all the worse. The series is picking up again in January:

On the heels of the bloody escape from the House of Batiatus that concluded "Spartacus: Blood and Sand", the gladiator rebellion continues and begins to strike fear into the heart of the Roman Republic in "Spartacus: Vengeance". Gaius Claudius Glaber and his Roman troops are sent to Capua to crush the growing band of freed slaves that Spartacus leads before it can inflict further damage. Spartacus is presented the choice of satisfying his personal need for vengeance against the man that condemned his wife to slavery and eventual death or making the larger sacrifices necessary to keep his budding army from breaking apart. Containing all of the blood-soaked action, exotic sexuality, and villainy and heroism that has come to distinguish the series, the tale of Spartacus resumes in epic fashion.
