Spot the Mystery Vehicle (1 Viewer)

sd.kfz 251/16 Ausf D Flammpanzerwagen

The position of the rear locker makes it version D

Looks to me like a Hanomag, what ever it is, I'm gonna be buying it!!!!...Sammy

Good luck with that Terry but I think your a bit to late if it is in fact the basic version. That was my initial guess but as Fat Boy had already named I went for the rocket firing version in case the fuel can type thing pictured on the side of the Winter version was actually a wooden frame for the rockets.

I do not think Fatboy fully spelled out the full name ( the /1 is not there). Stickleback came out with the full name a few minutes before me. Hopefully he lives in the far east, because Andy is a fair man - aren't you Andy?

Terry

I agree that it's some variation of the SdKFZ 251, ausf D. As stated before, one can't see the fighting compartment to see if it's a troop carrier, gun carrier or whatever. There's another maker doing a troop carrier 251, so I'll go out of a limb and guess that it's an SdKFZ 251/7, ausf D, the engineer variant. Andy likes the unusual and maybe the stowed bridge sections appeal to him.

Hanomag, naturally. BUT more importantly, it's got a late war camouflage scheme. I love that there will be different crews for the different vehicles. Andy is an evil genius. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the 1917 WWI range.

German Half-track Sd.Kfz.251/17 Ausf.C

Thanks

Hi Guys,

I know some of you like little competitions… So here’s one…

Take a look at these little pix of parts of an upcoming K&C German fighting vehicle…

The Question is… Exactly what vehicle is it? The full technical description please, for instance “Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf. L” as an example.

K&C are releasing two different paint versions of the same vehicle (summer and winter) plus two different crew sets to go with it.

Only one entry per Treefrogger (otherwise it gets too easy). Please post the answer as a reply to this thread. The first Treefrogger with the correct answer will be the winner.

The winner will get his (or her’s) pick of the two vehicles as a prize along with a little surprise gift from yours truly.

Start putting on your thinking caps and hazard a guess!
Best wishes and happy collecting!
Patrick

P.S. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, 30 June, 2009

This is definitely an Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf.D. The axe didn't provide a useful clue as this appears to be a non-standard mount point.

Although it's already been said a couple of times I will guess the following (because I would like to see it) and hope my variation of the name is the "complete" name beeing looked for.

Sd.Kfz.251/22 Ausf.D - 7.5 cm PaK40 L/46 auf Mittlerem Schützenpanzerwagen

I thought it was off the get go to!

Agree it looks like late version sdkfz 251, we have had 251/3 and an early 251/1 WS13 - revisit perhaps, or one of the other 20 odd versions - maybe an ambulance version?

Honestly guys, you're way off the mark.

It's quite obviously a Karlgerat 040.

The camo pattern is clearly applied to give it the appearance of an Sd.Kfz 251 Ausf D. And you all fell for it. Shame on you.

Patrick, I'll let you know where to send my new siege mortar. Thanks. ;)

Simon,

The Figarti forum is not here......;)

Guys whats the version of the 251 with the rocket launchers on the side?

Rob

It is a SdKriegsKaputzenvagon Ausf mitderriveterpoken:D That is my final answer.:D:D You can tell by the number of rivets in the ax holder.
